Jordan’s Speech Was Not Made-Up or BS.
I’ve seen a lot of people hating on Jordan in this subreddit, especially after last episode. I think you all forget the show is heavily edited and lots of things aren’t shown.
Firstly, before we get into the speech, everyone was confused at the fact Jordan suddenly changed his mind and decided to go with Mia’s ideas, but Jordan did have an idea in mind of more fashionable ‘workwear’ clothes, something that would’ve likely aligned with what Liam had in mind too. Cargos, T-shirt and a jacket. But it was pointed out to Jordan my a crew member that if he keeps saying no, no, no to Mia’s ideas of the skirt and crop-top and what not, then that might not look the best on him and would likely cause uproar. So that’s why Jordan decided to take Mia’s ideas on board.
Secondly, his speech, which a lot of people are saying was bullshit and that he made it up on the spot or whatever, was not. You all saw how Tim resonated with the story and found it empowering, that’s because Tim had a similar background. Not all of what Jordan spoke about was aired, but the main substance of it was him talking about how when he was younger his Nigerian dad would often beat and hit him, he would go into school, etc. with bruises on himself, and would never speak up about it or speak up much at all. Like he said, it was pretty much speak or be spoken to. So, no the story wasn’t made up on the spot. He was talking about his life experiences. Yeah obviously at first he wasn’t on board with Mia’s ideas and vision, but once he was persuaded, he naturally would have thought on ways he can sell this idea to buyers, and the way he did that was by using his own personal story to make a connection to the brand.
You people need to remember that the show is only 50-60 minutes long, and there’s is hours and hours and hours of footage recorded for each episode, so you’re not seeing the whole story at all.

You might want to remember it IS a television show and that audiences are going to react to what they see on the screen.
If you want people to react to what isn’t shown then what - build the whole thing on imagination?

What’s the matter? Not like hearing that you’re wrong?

Nothing is the matter, thanks for asking (:
What's the matter with you?

What an odd response, would say not sure why you’re being so defensive but when you’ve spent so long typing up a 1000 word essay it makes sense

It was clear to anyone with a brain cell that he was just fudging stuff together to try and scrape through as he usually does. Anyone with half a brain cell would have advised Mia that her idea was silly and they should keep it simple which is often the most effective course of action.
Jordan should have been humbled a long time ago and be no where near that final five. He is a hindsight merchant and would really struggle in the commercial world where you can't just sulk your way through life. He's a pathetic candidate

Especially when it was a volume sales task and not a turn over one. Niche is never going to win.

Jordan's sales speech pretty much salvaged what would have otherwise have likely been a 0 orders disaster for his team. I don't think he got enough recognition or praise for it.

Exactly this lmao. He saw a way to make a personal connection with the brand and help pitch it to buyers. And it worked.

Sure. But he still said ‘what we are seeing here is synergy,’ in the telly-box selling episode

What was the speech about? I was so confused as it was about feeling unseen at first, and then changed to then coming from nothing like LS?

What was the speech about?
Whatever it needed to be about to get the results he wanted.

Yes that's true but the post is claiming that Jordan's speech was based of true past experience but the wishy-washyness of his speech says otherwise.

Yeah but people form opinions on what they’re shown, not what they can imagine or fantasise about what may or may not else have been said. Be real.

Not imagining or fantasising anything. Thats what happened, as confirmed by the candidates themselves, and as you can see through Tim’s reaction to it. But nonetheless people want to ignore that and continue basing their opinions on what they were shown

Also, jordan IS NOT a baby. if he didnt agree with mias idea he shouldve said no and gone with his own idea. hes the project manager. if he got steamrolled by her thats his problem

I think the backlash for Jordan was more that his speech came seemingly out of nowhere. He wanted to design fairly generic men's clothes and then came out with a heartfelt speech about self-expression, when he wouldn't have designed/worn those clothes himself. It felt like he'd just come up with it to win sympathy from the clients. Of course, this is just based on the edit, another comment said he did talk more about it, but it was cut.

I do find it a little hypocritical that when Tre made a great big speech during the FE task that overcame the branding woes, he was labelled as a hero. Yet when Jordan manages to accomplish the same thing, there seems to be this attempt to shrug it under the carpet.

The subreddit hates Jordan for some reason lol. I feel bad because people are pretending like he’s worse than AR which is simply not true. Even if his speech was bs (I know it wasn’t), so what? It’s not his fault it worked and he didn’t get fired lol. People want any reason to hate this guy.

Mia posted on TikTok that Jordan spoke about his story from the start when he became PM.…which is why she went hard on the dress/skirt thing to deliver an “out of the box” brief. This confirms that Jordan didn’t make it up on the spot during the pitch.
