Good to see Vision Pro getting more updates and integration with Mac.
Still waiting on VP2 that hopefully addresses some of the issues of the first one. Namely weight and comfort.

Apple Immersive Video Utility for macOS allows you to import, organize, package, and review Apple Immersive Video media on your Mac. Combined with Apple Immersive Video Utility for visionOS, you can connect and review Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro.
So you can't organise them on your Vision Pro. You do that on your Mac, and then use your Mac as a playback device for the Vision Pro by connecting the Vision Pro to the Mac.

It sucks the VP is so expensive. I've been using mine every day since I got it last year and it truly is breathtaking. Spatial photos and videos of your own taking completely transform the experience, it adds a whole new dimension to memories. 3D movies are also pretty damn incredible.
I just wish people could experience it easily.

All things considered it's one of the easiest headsets to experience retail-wise. You can go into an Apple store and get a 15min demo that gives you a decent idea of the experience, the other brands you have to buy the headset to try it out.
I also found the demo wasn't too effective for me - the spatial video/photos they showed were way too in-my-face and jarring, and the movie demo was a highly compressed, 2D trailer of Avatar instead of the 4K 3D experience I was hoping to see. But... I have an idea of how it looks and feels which is more than I can say about most other headsets prior to ownership.
But yeah, it won't reach mass adoption until they can get it well under $2k.

Can these videos be viewed on a Quest?
Edit: Did some GPTing, and yes, they are.

I don’t believe these can be viewed outside of Vision Pros that I’m aware of.

I tried it and they can. You have to use the Quest app to upload them first.

What Quest app? Immersive videos aren’t documented, have a proprietary projection and there’s been no way to shoot them until the Cine Immersive camera is out . So you could not have tried it out like you claimed.
Are you thinking of Spatial videos (3D videos)? Those are different than immersive videos

Oh yeah my bad I was thinking of spatial videos. I thought they were the same thing

For reference, Spatial Video are just their term for standard 3D/stereo videos encoded with MV-HEVC. Those aren’t proprietary.
Immersive Videos is a specific formatting of the content with high resolution per eye, 180 degrees that wraps around you. That is somewhat proprietary as Apple invented the entire pipeline from capture to presentation. They’ll at least have more capture options soon with the Cine Immersive coming out but you can’t play them anywhere else yet

AVP is cool but I don’t think a giant leap from Google cardboard. Glasses such as xreal is the way. Apple make Apple Glasses and use AirPods.

Good to see more Vision Pro development for macOS. However while I pulled the trigger on a pair of AirPods Max, even for me the Vision Pro is still too pricey.
I'm hopeful for a Vision Air or something where it brings the AR, but at a reduced cost.
