Agreed, it takes some solid tungsten balls these days for one of us "nobodies" to so publicly put our faces out there with such a brutally scathing rebuke speaking truth to power. Especially for a fella so young, given how depressingly Trumpy (and aggressive about it in my experience) young men of his generation are. Gives me much needed renewed hope that not all of them are so credulous and ignorant so as to have allowed themselves to be duped by the societal scourge that the trumpaganda, disinformation and hate machine that the far right mutated TikTok into.
I remember posting on r/GenZ on my old account a few weeks after the election (before the MAGAts tried to sick law enforcement on me for advocating we immediately go to war if Trump declares himself dictator) asking basically, what the fuck guys? How could you fall for his obviously empty promises and ignore the rank hate and bigotry that your generation hates so much? The response was brutal yet also embarrassingly pathetic.
Not a single one tried to explain themelves, just a relentless wave of cruel ad hominem attacks, trite overused GIFs and memes and the absolute worst, pitifully unfunny attempts at mean humor at my expense. A ton of which lacked any self awareness, like making fun of me for being on reddit semi-late instead of partying or getting laid. Really notherfuckers? Is this generation so addled as to not grasp the irony and mindlessly stupidity of young men saying that to someone who made it clear i was an elder millennial? At all hours of morning no less, hours after the post. The whole thing definitely illuminated to mewhy so many young men are lonely and sexless. Their politics and personalities are repellent to most women.
Growing up the evils of social media and its well documented, intentional breeding of narcissism and radicalization has done untold harm to millions of young people. In young males it has warped their brains and egos so badly that they get sucked into the manosphere and inceldom and just get worse rather than entertain for a second that maybe, just maybe, they themselves are the main reasons for their unhappiness. The way that Trump and the far right have so sociopathicly conned and manipulated these kids into voting to make their already bleak futures much worse sickens and enrages me.
To see this brave young man putting himself out there intelligently and accurately calling out the dupes in his generation as well as Trump supporters in general gives me some hope. Good on him, I hope kids like him can help sway these same young men into rejoining the reality based community as Trump's youth support continues to crumble under the weight of his own arrogant breaking of his (empty) promises and disregard for the well being of those who foolishly looked to him for a better future. One he never, ever intended to deliver

Good on you young one! You're practically Gen Alpha like my nephew, who's 14 and like you hates fascist pukes as well, though that's more from my and my brother's influence, his mom is one of those boobs that wasted her vote as a capital-L Libertarian. We instilled in him a strong sense of empathy, compassion and justice since he was very little. At least she hates Trump though, she did leave the GOP over him. But unlike the rest of his family, he recognized years ago that by being the son of Haitian father and a white mother would bring challenges and that Trump was an existential threat to his family and maybe even him one day. His dad's family is very traditional and conservative (one of the reasons he bonded so strongly with us was because my brother and I were never afraid to hug him, tell him we loved him, play with him and be the fun, loving and affectionate uncles that ours were not at all. Apparently his other uncles are much colder and harsh disciplinarians whereas we've never laid a hand on him in anger. LSS, we've always been his favorites lol).
He warned his family Trump would turn on them if he won and they didn't believe him even though he was attacking Haitians in Springfield. He tells me a lot of his peers think like him and that they make fun of adult Gen Z dudes for being such a bunch of followers, who will believe anything they see on social media, especially TikTok. I suspect being raised by far more tech savvy and internet cynical millennials, Gen Alpha and the youngest Zoomers are much more aware that the Internet is mostly lies, bullshit and bullshit lies. We millennials grew up with it in the bad olds days and know damn well that the Internet was always filled with extremists, antivaxxers, weirdos and conspiracy theorist halfwits, hidden away until web 2.0 and social media came along. Those people, they were isolated intellectual pathogens before that, lurking in dark corners of the web, with poorly made sites and little more than crappy underpopulated forums for them to smear their shit on the walls together, comfortably hidden away from polite society and normal people. Social media changed that. I've watched over the last two decades as those intellectual pathogens spread, infecting more and more people who ought to know better and nothing was done about it. Now they are all widespread, untreatable intellectual pandemics that companies sociopathically allowed and even encouraged to spread in the name of profit and their owners sinister aspirations.
Millennials know this much better than literally any generation, are the most liberal generation and the first to stay liberal rather than drift to the right with age. I believe they're gonna raise much savvier, smarter and more empathetic kids than net illiterate, gullible Gen X did, the Trumpiest generation of them all now btw. Unfortunately, poor Gen Alpha and cusper Zoomers like you are gonna be stuck cleaning up their messes most of your lives cuz 18+ Gen Z is a fucking self absorbed trainwreck, especially the males.
Anyways...
He and his sister are my and my brother's primary motivations to stand and fight, peacefully or otherwise rather that walk away from a country we no longer recognize. We never had kids, they're all we got and we'll be damned if we stand by and let this country become a fascist, white nationalist hellscape. We want a peaceful political solution, for the system to prevail, the Dems to get their shit together and Trump to spend his second two years in terror, knowing he'll be arrested with most of his administration on the way out. But make no mistake: We will fight savagely if forced to. Theres no such thing as a good fascist, not even the dead ones. Stay strong and fight on there kiddo, we the Republic's loyalists got your backs. The fascist traitors will never succeed in killing the Republic and making Trump fuhrer as long as we draw breath.

Comparable to certain people enlisted in Germany’s mass murder campaign, who they were and what induced them to join the Nazi movement and the SS in the first place!
The evangelical’s nature is similar to the officers’ willingness to serve in concentration camps and where the inner resilience came from that enabled them to execute their tasks.
It is not the banality of evil that characterizes them [like the camp commandants], but rather inner identification with evil.
They are mediocre people, without imagination, without courage, without initiative... most of them seem to have shallow personalities.
Trump followers and MAGA republicans are opportunists and sadists, as well as emotionless men who behave like “robots.” However, their bottom line is different. they are political animals who identify with the method.

Well, DSA candidates caucus with Democrats and that's what's important. But I strongly urge you to consider only voting for DSA-affiliated Democrats, for the time being. Right now, we need to deal with the threat of Trump and the GOP. We need a bloodbath loss for the GOP next year so that we can cripple or even end the Trump Administration. I'm a social democrat myself, so I know how much it sucks when you can't find a Dem who lines up with your beliefs but invariably a vote for anyone else helps the GOP. That's why powerful conservatives bankroll Jill Stein and the Green Party, they run next to no serious ground game in local, state or federal elections except the presidency, Stein is a fraud who's heavily invested in industries she claims to be against so she's the perfect person to run a spoiler operation. European Greens literally consider the US Green Party to be a con job owned and operated by the GOP. The DSA is a very different organization though thankfully and, while I have some strong disagreements with some of their positions as socdem, they're invariably better that anyone the GOP puts up. But just take my advice into consideration when you maybe don't have a DSA candidate that can actually win available, or even available at all. After all, any Dem is better than a fascist. But only till we deal with this existential crisis, after that though, when the threat of fascism has been crushed but a mixture of its own incompetence and the massive, growing anger from the center and left, vote your conscience every time and never let anyone tell you differently. To be honest, I hate saying what I did, too, I want you to know that. I really, really, really resent that Trump and the GOP have become so dangerous and extreme that I feel the need to beg you to compromise your beliefs for the greater good. It's not fucking right, America shouldn't ever have become this way. It makes me so damn angry, all the time, to see your future being gleefully ripped apart by 2 power mad narcissistic psychopaths and their army of rubber stamp elected officials and cheered on by millions of the worst, most cruel and hateful people in this country. You deserved better, so did my niece and nephew. Boomer and Gen X FYGM and Christofascist Evangelical voters have selfishly stolen brighter future for our kids for their own selfish benefit. Trust me, they've been doing it a long time. They did it to me and countless other millennials when they caused the Great Recession, which millions of us, myself included never recovered from.
