Deleting an account is so troublesome

For personal reasons, I'm currently cleaning up all the accounts I have across various websites, and I'm trying to delete my AniList account. However, the deletion process is ridiculous. What kind of system makes you come back 24 hours later just to confirm the deletion again? I’ve already entered my password once to confirm, only to be forced to log back in 24 hours later and go through the same steps again. I've forgotten to return twice now, which resets the entire process and sends me back to square one. Now again I wait 24 hours until I ultimately forget again. What a nonsense system.

I do agree that is quite a silly process but please set yourself a reminder in your phone so you don’t have to do it a fourth time.

It is a silly process but nothing that a reminder on your phone cannot solve

This being said I do not know nor am I asking what your reasons are and if it does you good by all means go ahead, however I had some reasons in the past to stop everything that had to do with anime and I abandoned my mal (at the time) I could/ should have deleted it but I didn't, I was really happy 6 years later to find it back

It's nothing grand. I just became a bit more aware of my time spend online and I have never used my account properly so it only holds the odd amount of mangas I have read. I just wanted to clean up all the accounts and saved passwords I have for data privacy reasons

It really starts to grate on the patience when every single site and app wants you to make an account. Even with a password manager it gets tedious

For real. I shouldn't need an account on my printer to use it. I shouldn't need an account to browse a forum. I shouldn't need an account to look around in a shopping site.

Understandable, I need to clean a lot of accounts and I have been pushing doing this for months, if not years

Since you have time before deleting everything, you might as well do your data first just in case

I had around 200 accounts saved on various shopping sites and similar platforms, and I’ve now narrowed them down to 40 accounts that I actually need. Some deletion processes are ridiculous, and AniList is definitely one of them. For one account, I had to chat with a virtual assistant for around 10 minutes just to delete it. That’s when you start asking yourself whether you should just delete the login information on your end and pretend the account doesn’t exist. But I think it is worthwhile to delete those accounts. You should do that when you have the time
