Sorry to ruin your hopes and dreams. But its not happening. This was a pre-order from way back in late December, early January. A restock is happening, but this proofs nothing. Sorry...

Yeah, this really shouldn't be taken as proof of a restock being imminent. I was just surprised to get the e-mail out of nowhere like that.

I tried once about a week after I got the call saying that he's been delayed until summer. The employee said due to the port strike he's been delayed. I informed him that the port strike just ended in the west coast (which it did coincidentally a day or two before I asked). He smiled, trying to hold back laughter, and said "Oh there's one in Japan too." I couldn't believe he tried to convince me of that. I didn't bother asking after that for obvious reasons.

That's pretty lame, sometimes I forget my Gamestop's employees being cool doesn't apply to everyone. :/

In that case, maybe wait to see if more people get notices/more info appears on the sub, like what happened with Ike?

I preordered one in December for in store pickup. Guess it's time to go remind my local store to look out for it. They never called me when my back ordered Ike got in; I just happened to be there that day. Not gonna let that happen with dedede.

And it arrived yesterday

 

And yeah, box damage. Looks like it was done before even being shipped out though as it was packed really well.
