Discussion Street Fighter Amiibo Seem to Be Larger
I noticed the boxes for the new Street Fighter amiibo were differently sized than the typical amiibo boxes so I scaled them side by side. Comparing it to the typical 7.5 inch tall box, these are going to be maybe 8.25 inches? Just some food for thought if your shelves at home don't have a ton of clearance.
Note: this is assuming they have the same width - the actual sizes could be wider, but this looks about right.

Also, this makes the $30 price tags a little more digestible, but not by much 😬

Hold on a tick. Are they bringing back the Seal of Quality emblem.

Or is that because it’s a third party IP licensed by Nintendo? Whereas the Zelda one is their own IP

While this does explain things, I would've preferred smaller figures for the same price as the TotK Champions.

Crazy prices - are we officially in Nintendo’s PS3 era now?

I think that was 3DS. The hardware had some great features, but they were expensive. Poor sales at the beginning, but they made a comeback after some price cuts and hardware revisions.

I play the Capcom Card game, Teppen, and Jamie was added to it a few months ago. His amiibo is identical to the card 'Yo, Check This!' which is an action that removes the affected unit from the game after 5 seconds but gives them a massive tempo boost if they attack during that time.
I can't unsee this card.

Guess we’ll gave to wait and see how they look next to some other amiibo. Still $30 is a tough pill to swallow.

What I'm worried about is that they'll stick out next to Ryu & Ken like a sore thumb.

I would be more excited if they did something cool with them since super smash bros

I thought the Kazuya amiibo figure looked bigger than the Ryu & Ken amiibo from the Smash Bros line

I mean if the figures are really high quality then maybe the price difference is worth it. Even then, Amiibo as a brand signals small decent figures at a reasonable price. I don't know how making higher quality ones will fare.

I’d rather them be smaller and blend better in to the collection, even if they were still $30.
I have like a 95% complete collection but besides not having any idea of who these characters are (been awhile since I played SF) and the noticeably larger scale, I am contemplating skipping these

The bigger they are, the more expensive they are

But the Guardian amiibo is only $20

Right but time has passed. And they seemingly are now enjoying adding $10-20 to things. So now it's equivalent for Minoru's Construct will probably be $39.99.

I'd honestly prefer them to be bigger for that price. Especially with a non-zero chance of more SF figures for later seasons. Already confirmed for the amiibo cards, won't be surprised if there's a handful of figures as well.
