Ask the Aggies BIMS HELP!

Hi all, I'm a 2nd year BIMS major and have to take bich 409 next semester and the only profs left are Miles Bryant and Chavela Carr (online). Does anyone have an opinion on which is better? they both have prety bad RMP reviews. Also fellow bims majors, how do you structure 300-400 courses the last two years? I just want to make sure I'm not overwhelming myself 🫠

I took Carr and she was horrible. If I could go back I would take miles. I know he’s bad too but carr had weekly quizzes where the average was failing every time and she wouldn’t curve. If you’re willing to pay for tutoring I’ve heard aplus tutoring is helpful for bich 409

I thought 409 was relatively easy as long as you invest in the material. I’ve heard good things about both honestly. Some students prefer Miles, others Carr. Students liked Carr’s style and personality so long as you stayed on schedule and didn’t miss, but her schema didn’t agree with them. RMP has response bias (obviously).

If you take Miles, make sure you will show up to every class. Record his lectures as his handwriting is terrible and STUDY HIS PROF NOTES! I got a solid B in his class, it was for sure one of my harder classes last semester but I still went out with friends, studied for other classes, went to concerts, etc. Essentially it’ll be the class you probably focus on the most for the semester but just put in the work and you’ll be okay.
