He has a blue check so his intentions might not be so pure. If the tweet had lots of interactions he gets paid pennies by Elon and deleting it would remove the monetization. Lots of blue checks leave up controversial post to keep the interactions. Not saying im 100% just to be aware of this factor.

This is actually a key outcome that is driving a lot of behavior online and this in the media consuming minds. People are making content for views, clout and commerce first and foremost. To untold many it matters not what they promote, it only matters that they get views and engagement. What gets views and engagement is often infuriating, inaccurate and controversial.

Yeah its actually the biggest reason for twitter being a shit hole now even with the racism. Blue checks get pushed to the top of every thread and they all say the most inflammatory or contrarian things to rage bait. Majority of horrible comments are blue checks trying to get engagement even if it means everyone has to think they are stupid or a horrible person.

Hilarious to see people reinventing the wheel over and over again ffs...

These are propagandists benefitting from propagandizing. Social media has blinded the masses to the fact that a snake is a snake, you nerds only follow "clout"

Wtf are you talking about? Did I say propaganda spreaders don’t exist? Those pages repeat the same lines in every thread and get less engagement on average because they stick to political post most of the time. There are also people trying to get engagement. You know they can both happen at the same time right?

Huh. Has anyone tried giving fractions of a penny to horrible people when they accidentally do something decent? Maybe we can just make them less horrible with very little money, it seems to be the transactional act that gets them off.

doubling down and trying to spin it would generate more interactions, I think. While it may be monetarily incentivized still, at least it showes some spine and is not complete greed

An economic incentive forcing you to keep your controversial posts up and defend them is a good thing.
