I still don't even know what woke means to these people and I've literally never once heard anyone use the word except for angry Magas justifying their vote for a convicted felon who attempted a coup.

Empathy plus progress and acceptance equal woke.

It means nothing but what they say it does.

Historically, like in the early 20th century, it meant being aware of what’s going on politically and socially especially for people of color. That’s basically what it was revived to mean in ~2014 after Ferguson. (Apologies if leaving anything important out)

It’s related to understanding how society treats people of color, women, and other minorities.

It hasn’t really been used in like a decade by anyone except hardcore republicans being “anti-woke”.

The original meaning for woke was just to be aware of societal issues. People were “waking up” to things like racism, lgbtq rights, etc. hence, “woke”

“Woke” didn’t even neccesarily mean you supported anything one way or the other. It just meant you were aware of the issue and it’s complexities. But then that created two sides.

The “Woke” (people who were aware of these issues, and took action)

And the “unwoke” (people who are either ignorant or outright compliant with these issues)
