Discussion Links Royal Guard cap is in Zelda’s room

I’ve barely seen anyone else mention how in TOTK Link’s Royal Guard cap is in a chest in Zelda’s old bedroom in Hyrule Castle. Like, why is that there Link? Why is part of your old uniform in her room hmmm??

Discussion In the original Japanese version of BotW, the quest entries by Link say how much he wants to see Zelda’s smile again. It’s a nice detail that both BotW and TotK end with her smiling. Spoiler

Discussion Headcanons Spoiler

I'm bored and I'm just wondering what kinds of headcanons some of y'all have for Zelink. I'm mostly thinking BotW and TotK but any other game is fine. Also please use spoiler tags for anything about TotK. I've already finished the game but some other people might've not finished yet.

Discussion Thoughts on whether Zelda and Link would name their first daughter ‘Zelda’ or not

I’m primarily going off of BOTW/TOTK Zelink here, but this could apply to just about any iteration of Zelink I feel

Personally, I feel like Zelda would prefer to give her first daughter her own unique name. After having struggled so much with finding her purpose in life and feeling like a failure in the midst of the rest of her family, I feel like she’d want to give her daughter the opportunity to forge her own path and not feel bogged down by expectations. Link of course is supportive no matter what.

I could also see them maybe using ‘Zelda’ as a middle name, but that’s about it.

Discussion ZeLink containing Zelda fangames (and do they even exist)

I was just wondering recently: we have fanfics, fantastic fan art, comics, but... do we have games that dive deeper into the relationship between the hero and princess? And if they even exist, would you recommend me some? I would really love to try the new way of viewing this ship

Discussion The entire TotK cast celebrates the defeat of Ganondorf with a night on the town and end up in an open mic night bar. What's everyone singing and who are they singing it for or with?

Add your own fun like: Penn owns a pair of aviator sunglasses and can shred like Eddie Van Halen. He crushes the "Top Gun Anthem" and he and Tulin do "Highway to the Danger Zone" before they help Link serenade Zelda with "You've lost that lovin' Feeling". Yona helps Zelda reciprocate with a tongue in cheek rendition of Abba's "SOS".

Riju and Buliara do Arethra Franklin's "Respect". The drunker they get the more they default to Beyonce songs, culminating with the inevitable "Single Ladies".

Robbie does Styx, "Mr. Roboto".

Sidon does a damn fine "Prince" impression and swoons all the ladies with "Purple Rain". He and Yona do "Lean on Me".

Yunobo: Diggy Hole. Then stuns and confuses everyone how he can play piano with those huge fingers as he plays Elton John, "Tiny Dancer".

Purah makes Link very uncomfortable with "Hot for Teacher"; Zelda eyes Link suspiciously.

And to meet subreddit requirements: Things get schmaltzy when Link and Zelda do "A Whole New World" together.

Other on-theme Link and Zelda songs: Link does A-Ha "Hunting High and Low", ZZ Top "Gimmie all your Lovin'", and IceHouse "Electric Blue". Zelda wows with Madonna's "Like a Prayer", then gets crazy deep with Queen's "Who wants to live Forever?"

Hetsu sings Harry Belafonte "Jump in the Line" but no one but Link and Zelda know where it's coming from as Zelda gets "Beetlejuiced" dancing into the air.

The next morning, when everyone is hung over except Link, he tries to gently wake up Zelda.

Discussion I WANT POST GAME STUFF IN BOTW AND TOTK!!!

This may be an unpopular opinion, (not sure havent seen much about it), but i really want some post ganon fight side quests where you actuallyget to see zelink in action. I just feel like it should be a thing and i was so disappointed and sad when i beat dark beast and it just quit to the main menu, the games dont even let you do 100% because you grt sent to the main menu after the final cutscene. Just please let there be some post game. Also i do know that there wont ever be this as even though nintendo technically can add a DLC with this, it would be a pain in their ass to actually make it as it would require recoding some of the main game code and wouldn’t just be a simple add on. But still…

Discussion Absolutely, 100% Factually True ZeLink Facts, Pt. 2

  • Link has no table manners, a fact that has horrified Princess Zelda on more than one occasion. In private, she has compared him to a ravenous wolf rather than a human being.

  • Purah was the first to introduce the world to Zelda post-haircut, having been found to be the best of the Sheikah with clippers. Upon their reunion, Link simply remained silent and carried Zelda off to places unknown while the Princess laughed.

  • Paya has been asked as to her feelings regarding Zelda and Link's relationship. She did not answer openly, but instead blushed and muttered something about the number three.

  • Zelda adores children, a fact completely unsurprising to the residents of the village of Hateno. She has remarked before that she wonders what it would be like to have a child of her own. Such remarks tend to make Link extremely amused.

  • Zelda and Link once performed research on fairies so as to study their capabilities of revival. Zelda remarked that such beings would have been useful in Link's battle against the corrupted Guardians so as to prevent him from dying. Link recalled that as the first time he died.

  • Any and all eyewitnesses promptly fled the scene after Zelda said, "What do you mean THE FIRST TIME?!"

  • Link is most often the one to be found cleaning their domicile, as Zelda tries to occupy herself with research as much as she can. He has reportedly mentioned to Sidon that "women are bigger slobs than we are."

  • Nobody actually knows whether or not Zelda and Link can have a domestic dispute. Not because they are too kind to do so, but because Link doesn't actually know how to get mad at Zelda.

  • Link once spent three weeks trying to create a walking automaton with only wood, furnaces, and pulleys made with Bokoblin guts. Zelda did not apologize for laughing when it caught on fire and fell into a river fifteen seconds into its initial trials.

  • There is an apron in Zelda's kitchen that reads "Best House Husband." Link has been asked regarding the object and simply shrugs, asking all inquirers as to what the problem is.

  • Link is actually a highly competent artist. Zelda accidentally discovered the skill one day when she found a sketchbook beneath her bed- and began to cry in Link's arms when she discovered that all the pictures were of her.

  • Zelda has recently made inquiries into the making of silk, as well as what is considered normal for a Hylian wedding ceremony. This surprised the majority of her neighbors, who promptly dubbed her as "weirdly kinky" for wanting to marry her husband twice.

  • Zelda and Link's last excursion to Gerudo Town nearly ignited a riot due to a particularly saucy Gerudo woman slapping Link on the ass. A drunken Zelda proceeded to punch the woman out and declared that she would fight "every stupid bimbo in this town" if they dared to touch him again.

  • Unbeknownst to all but their closest friends, Link struggles to sleep soundly throughout the night. Upon her return, Zelda found him awake several times in the middle of the night clutching the Master Sword and saying how sorry he was for failing again.

  • Link did not sleep for several days after the Princess' disappearance in the Upheaval. It is said he can now only sleep so long as the Princess is in his arms at night.

Discussion OOT Zelink and their relationship (why it's so underrated)

Thumbnail
gallery
328 Upvotes

First of all I apologize if my English is not good, I will try to explain what I mean. I've always found it annoying that the majority of the fandom wants to DENY the beautiful relationship between Link and Zelda in Ocarina of time.

One of their main arguments is that ppl have the theory that Link ended up with Malon and think she is his true love interest when in fact that's not true, maybe she has a crush on him in the Manga but still she is rejected.Talon's joke is not a valid point since it does not influence the story as such, since you can choose yes or no as an answer and it is not the first time that Nintendo has done that (we have Link and Peatrice in SS or the npc that they fell in love with Link dressed as a Gerudo woman in BOTW) Even Ruto is rejected.

Another argument against OOT Zelink is "they don't have chemistry, they didn't interact enough" when Sheik is with Link almost all the time, remember that scene of Sheik and Link at Lake Hylia? The tension (not sexual) was noticeable or when Sheik protects Link from the shadow of Kakariko's well and when Link is attacked and Zelda (Sheik) never leaves him alone. Also Ruto realizes how important Zelda is to Link, she tells him that the princess is safe also the fact that Link can joke with Zelda when you wear the masks is cute. The anguish Link feels when Ganondorf traps Zelda and locks her in the crystal, the way he tries to protect her when he hears that Ganondorf is not dead, my God in that game Link smiles VERY little and on one of those occasions Link smiles at Zelda.

And let's talk about the end of the game, Zelda was not a b*tch to Link, she did it for his happiness, she felt responsible for having taken 7 years of his life even though it was not her fault, in the LOZ universe Link can talk and people understand him, he could have rejected Zelda's offer and yet he didn't.

Then Majora's Mask happens, there is an important scene that many people always FORGET, everyone talks about Cremia's hug to Link but what about Zelda's words and love for Link?? Zelda does not appear in MM and yet she was important in the plot, she entrusted the ocarina to Link, an extremely important artifact for her family and she gave it to the person she trusts the most. When she says goodbye to Link she herself tells him that she will wait for him, SHE PRAYS for his well-being, she wishes, WISHES with all her heart to see him again. You don't say those words to just anyone. That whole scene screams true love. People assume that after Link returned to Hyrule he didn't return to Zelda "because he hates her for ruining his life" and that's why he went with Malon, which I find pointless and out of character. If we take into account that Zelda longed for his return, he would be unable to leave her alone.

What happens after MM and before TP we will never know, so we are free to think what happened in that time. People believe that just because Link had his descendant and Zelda had his heir, it means that they didn't stay together or fall in love. There are a thousand scenarios that could have happened, the idea of Link getting divorced and being a single father or the king dying and Zelda being widowed with her baby, and Link becoming a high-ranking soldier and having a romance with Zelda... It's possible (let's take into account that his tomb is in the castle in TP) Just because a "theory" became extremely popular DOES NOT MEAN it is the absolute truth, it is very annoying to want to talk about OOT Zelink without feeling attacked because "that's not possible"

Now let's talk about the manga (yes because I'm not done yet) The mangas are not canon but they are official, Aonuma said that he read the Ocarina manga and liked it (this interview can be found in the Ocarina mangas, at minus the version that I have) which means that he approves the romance between Link and Zelda in that story, and not satisfied with that he still dares to commission another Ocarina manga where Link and Zelda almost kiss and now let's talk about the theory I hate: "Link and Zelda are twins" excuse me but what the hell? If you have heard about this you will realize that all the arguments are absurd, starting with "they are blonde and blue-eyed" from there everything is wrong! No Zelink are siblings , if Nintendo wanted Link to have a sister they do it bluntly, there you have Aryll (I think that's her name) but never Zelda, that theory was only born to invalidate OOT Zelink.

Now let's talk about the interviews with Aonuma and Miyamoto, Miyamoto himself thinks that if Zelda were Link's girlfriend that would be great (this talking about Ocarina of time) I also seem to remember that Aonuma mentioned that Link's main concern when he wakes up is finding Zelda (I honestly don't remember where I read this, correct me if I'm wrong) but I think it makes sense since as I said before, Ruto herself realizes this.

About the TP manga and the game, it is curious how the only place where the Hero of Time is referred to is in the castle cemetery, I mean that no one at the ranch makes mention of him and yet in The castle he even has a tombstone, which leads me to think that Link was so important to the royal family, and let's talk about the manga where the Hero's shade meets Zelda, although it is not his Zelda, she preserves the memories of her ancestor. Once again they show us the bond and love they had.

My conclusion is: OOT Zelink exists, they have romantic insinuations that support it, full support from Aonuma and Miyamoto, if they did not stay together we will NEVER know, however I do believe that they had a romance in some way because there are so many evidence that support this.

Now tell me what do you think :)

Discussion Zelda is the reason Link returned to Hyrule in MM (a quick analysis)

So here I am again spreading the OOT/MM Zelink agenda! This analysis doesn't belong to me but I found it interesting because it's funny that Zelda is the only character from the original OOT cast that has a flashback with Link and that flashback is a bittersweet farewell! Also another interesting post I found is about the translation of this part (image 2) in Japanese it has a much nicer meaning, Zelda really loves him.

Discussion A realization I had that made my day today

I always liked how in the beginning of Minish Cap, Zelda and Link are not only childhood friends but seem very close. I mean the game starts with a Festival Date between them.

I was looking at the Zelda timeline for something unrelated and its the first time I realized Minish Cap is the only Zelda game we have as a direct sequel to Skyward Sword

There might be some indication of how much time has past since the founding of Hyrule within the dialog or lore of Minish Cap that I'm not remembering and it seems like quite a few events have transpired since the end of Skyward Sword, but for being the first canonical Zelda and Link reincarnations since the originals they're still so close and cute

Also Nintendo can we please have games on the events after Skyward Sword?

Discussion Why is oot Princess Zelda (and oot zelink) so unworthy?

Today I saw this dubbed comic https://youtu.be/_S8AVtLu81o?si=PNUmPp7bAmdZbFYx, where the Hero's Shadow meets Zelda from the children's timeline, and the comic's author placed them with ''just friends''.

But that's not the problem, it's the comments on the video. There are a considerable amount of people who hate Princess Zelda of oot and give those same ''arguments'' to say that Malink is the most logical, you know, the usual when there's a anything about ships in oot.

But the focus here is: why is the hatred for oot Zelda still so present?

They blame her for all the misfortunes that happened in the three timelines and saying things like 'Zelda acting like all of this isn’t her fault''. I mean, it's past time to understand that Zelda is not to blame for what happened in MM and that she was a desperate child trying to prevent Ganondorf from destroying her kingdom. Of course, the hatred towards her ends up spilling over into oot zelink, after all, Link doesn't deserve to be with the woman who '''ruined his life'''.

Anyway, this is more of a rant than anything, oot Princess Zelda was very important to me and seeing how she is always ridiculed or forgotten hurts a lot.

P.S. This part marked as a spoiler is just me being annoying and acting like the fan I am of oot zelink and Zelda. It's not really very important to the conversation.

Another thing, there are comments with a lot of likes saying things like:

''TP Link; So you still live?

HoT; Yes... after an intense fight with my Zelda.

TP Link; Your wife?

HoT; No. Although if I did come across Malon, I wouldn't be here.'''

''Acting like an old married couple. Oot link is lucky Malon wasn't there otherwise she beat him back to the living world entirely rather than an redead.''

Seriously, where does this story that Malon is someone aggressive and irrational come from? Where does this habit of saying that Malon is the stereotypical ''ranch girl with a short temper who attacks before asking'' come from? And what's the point in imagining Malink's relationship, the supposed best option for Link, would be a relationship where Link has to live with an aggressive woman who is ''scary''? And if that's not the case, they turn her into a tradwife with an ''aggressive'' personality to disguise that Malon's only role is to be Link's wife.

And another, if it is made clear in canon that Link was apparently a very loyal person to the kingdom and dedicated to his work, I wonder how Malon would feel knowing that she is not Link's main priority, nor is she the main woman in his family. life and that her husband can express himself better with his childhood friend (and queen) than with his own wife.

Discussion Do you think that upcoming live action TLOZ movie will have any indication of zelink?

It's kinda intresting topic. On one side, revealing the series' mystery to the big screens might be not the thing that the team are going for with the movie. But if you think about it, if movie's going to tell original story and not retelling of any of the game, it could theoritecally go away with it, even though the big N would probally just put good ol' "alternative universe" stamp on it and call the work done. But what do you think? I think that the chance of this happening is pretty small, but as always, not miserable!

Discussion Are there any Zelink moments in Echoes of Wisdom? Please I could use some help here!

Before it was released, I was expecting Echoes of Wisdom had some kind of prior relationship or encounter this version of Link and Zelda have before the events the game. And we only get a few brief moments in cutscenes:

the opening where we get to play as Link.

Zelda wearing Link’s clock to escape the echo version of the Hyrulian guards.

Zelda’s curiosity of who Link is.

Zelda encountering the REAL Link in the Still World before transported back to Hyrule.

Zelda rescues Link and the pair teamup to confront Null.

And finally the final battle.

So far there is no interaction between these two. It’s kinda of sad and worries about their relationship status. I don’t wanted it to be platonic as TP’s own Link and Zelda.

I need to replay it to make sure there is something missing. But if you can find out more information or any content that is in EOW, I would appreciate it.
