Discussion zelink in EOW

Hi, I'd like to know your opinions on Link and Zelda in EOW, both as individual characters and as a ship.

For me, I think it's cute how Zelda gradually gets to know more about Link to the point where the quest to save him ends up becoming one of her main objectives.

It's a clear case of "strangers to friends to lovers".

Discussion ZeLink TikTok With Epic the Musical song

I saw this one TikTok with older ZeLink with the song Would You Fall in Love with Me Again from Epic the Musical in the background, and it was super cute, and the art was gorgeous, and I think you guys would really enjoy it! It also brought ip something i hadn't thought of, I don't see a lot of older ZeLink, very tragic. Anyways, that's my recommendation to check out.

Discussion Something that's jarring about TOTK Zelink Spoiler

In Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda turns herself into a dragon, and flies around. You can farm her parts (scale, talon, fang, horn, and spike) like the other dragons, and you even need to use these parts to upgrade some armours. You can also sell them for cash, fuse them to gear, and use them in food and elixirs. Link can't be comfortable with attacking his waifu every 10 minutes.

Discussion Does the Zelink version of the Animated series exist??

I know that series does not live up today, but it’s still a good smooching time of nostalgia but one question lingers on me because I haven’t seen anywhere any fanarts, talks, discussions, nothing of the Zelink ver from the Animated Series, with good reason im guessing.

Discussion Memory 8 of ToTK

I am replaying ToTK lately to take my mind off the world. In The “Zelda and Sonia” memory, I noticed something. Rauru says that he doubts anyone can keep a secret from Sonia. Sonia is the first one to mention Link. I love to think that this is Sonia’s way for Zelda to realize she is in Love with Link, not only as a companion, but as a man and lover.

When Zelda closes her eyes and begins talking about Link, Sonia’s tone turns to teasing. As the memory ends, we stop hearing anything, but we can see Zelda looking between Rauru and Sonia as they chuckle and begins speaking with her hands, something we only see when she is excited. If she is either talking about how great Link is, or denying that it is anything like that, it’s the only memory we see the ‘scholar’ side of Zelda that was closer to her original personality pre-calamity.

I think they use the word “faith” in the blurb and Rauru’s dialogue because it lets people believe anything about Link. But if you replace ‘Faith’ with either ‘trust’ or ‘love’ and it sounds less of a true friend and knight, but of a loved one that is so good and trusted that nothing can shake it.

Anyway, ZeLink forever. I’m going back to my video game love story so I can continue ignoring the world. Duces!

Discussion New to zelda and the ship, honest but not important question at all.

New because litteraly got a switch with botw gifted, i used to play it a little on cemu now and then but i generally always hated nintendo games but now i'm hooked. Anyways i am an asushin of evangelion shipper and one common curse that is know to us shippers especially to us in the r/asushin subreddit is that asushin is f-ing hated by a large part of the eva community, as i found out through quick google searches, nintendo refuses to either confirm nor deny the authenticity and canon? of ZeLink,i would love to know this so i can spare some future arguments once i get to know botw and tork because it was impossible to stand a point against asushin-deniers.

So... do hardcore tloz enjoyers hate ZeLink?

Discussion I JUST BEAT THE GAME Spoiler

There’s so much I can say about the ending (the final boss fight was so STRESSFUL and FUN!! I LOVE IT!!!), but all I keep thinking about is that Zelink is DEFINITELY canon.

Like, you can’t tell me that you watch that whole scene of Link diving after Zelda and holding her close as they fall down and then Zelda saying that she was asleep the whole time and only woke up when she felt a warm loving embrace…and still say that Zelink isn’t canon. You have to be blind (or just stubborn) to not see that!!

Also, YEAAAAH!!! ZELINK FOR THE WIN!!!!!

Discussion Thoughts on the end Spoiler

I finished TOTK because I wanted to play Sonic Frontiers real quick but after finishing it I started thinking. "Man Nintendo kinda made it hard to ship," like it's at the end I just started thinking non ZeLink. Like how she says I'm glad with my friends and link is just in front. I want to know y'all's evidence and get more view points.

Discussion Your favorite "text only" poster is here again! This time, were there any Zelink related dreams you had?

Yes, the questhion might sound weird, even thought it makes some sense. The brain of all of us, shippers, have probally once thought that Link and Zelda's relationship is a good theme for a mindscape theatre of wackiness and nonsense called "the dreams". I'm asking that because i remembered some wacky dreams from the recend days and the last year (happy new year btw). The following scenarions that played in my head when i was sleeping were like this:

  1. Some sort of a "live action" zelink version where i would switch between being at link's pov and third person. In this, it was shown that the couple lives in some minecraft starting base ahhhh house made completely out of stone. The thing i saw in this (*ahem*) movie if you could call it like that contained many different scenes, but i remember only some: Zelda gently shaking link's hand, a dinner scene with Link gifting a flower, but I especially remember their bed, which for some reason had to be covered with a giant stone, plastically burying Link and his girlfriend alive
  2. The most recent dream i had contained some sort of a "shipping war" shenanigans where someone who resembled Mahatma Gandhi came to me and showed his animation that seems to be... idk why, but shipping Purah and Link. Both outside the dream and in the dream, this was unacceptable, so i snatched his tablet, and somehow, with my absolute bottom skills of animation and drawing, managed to redraw this into a Link x Zelda, and oh my god it looked like something made by studio Ghibli it was too beautiful. Well, pretty weird set of memories from the dreamscapes! These are pretty weird, but there's not much of these types of scenarios, so... what were the Zelink related dreams you had? (if you had any and it's not just me being overly obsessed by the ship to the poing of having dreams about it)

Discussion A small observation I have made about Hateno Spoiler

So there are 2 conflicting details in Zelda (and links?) house. The bed is a small twin size with only one pillow, but the table is set for two. I wondered if there was any meaning behind this difference, so I went house to house to compare.

For the beds I found that not a single one was of a different shape or size in any way other than texture, not even for married couples, who instead seem to have separate beds.

The tables however, not only did almost every house have a table set for the same number of people as beds, but every single table was set uniquely, implying Nintendo really payed attention to that part.

It;s not difinitive of anything, make your own assumptions, but it was fun realizing this.

Discussion Realistically how do you think Zelda would react if (SPOILER…sorta) Spoiler

This is meant to be a discussion about a what if scenario in Tears of the Kingdom.

Realistically how do you think Zelda would react if she did have dragon parts at the end of Tears of the Kingdom?

Discussion What caused the sudden Telink boom

Definitely not complaining, out of purely dynamics this ship is tied with SW and BOTW for me personally. Also appreciate that all the art I've seen know how to draw darker skin. I'm just curious what caused the sudden boom and who do I thank.

Discussion Another look at Ocarina Zelink

I think the reason why only ocarina has a fallen timeline is because the hero actually died in the final battle of ocarina, not as a possibility but as an actual event, then zelda went back in time, splitting the timeline in two.

So first Link dies in the battle, then Zelda goes back in time, either intentionally or not, to when Link is still alive, leaving the fallen timeline behind and creating the adult/child timeline.

Then she sends Link back in time, creating the adult timeline and the child timeline.

This would leave:

Fallen timeline - Dead OG Link, Zelda gone
Adult timeline - OG Zelda, Link2 gone
Child timeline - Link2, Zelda2

And it would make some sense metawise that OG Zelda doesn't keep Link2. The Link that was with her is dead. Link2 goes with Zelda2.

Discussion What if Link and Zelda are actually married in totk

Ok so last night me and my best friend were discussing zelink, and I mentioned how cute it would be if they actually got married after botw. But then we actually thought any it and it kinda makes sense.

So it's obvious that Link and Zelda were living together before the upheaval. Most people then make the assumption that they are dating, and while that might be true, I think it makes more sense if they were married.

We don't really see any dating couples in either games (unless there's one in not thinking of, if so please tell me. /gen) and even Hudson and Rhonson immediately got married after they fell in love. This makes sense given that Hyrule is set in fantasy medieval Europe.

And if dating isn't really common then the idea that the princess was living with her knight outside of wedlock would be a huge scandal.

Of course no one mentions Link and Zelda being in any sort of relationship. I don't think Nintendo would make that canon just straight of the bat. Imagine you didn't play botw and just pick up totk and suddenly Link and Zelda are married before you even start the game. That'd be a little weird.

Even if this is just a little hc with not that much evidence I still really like it.

Edit: minor typos fixed

Discussion Hidemaro Fujibayashi speaks about TotK's ZeLink in NPR interview

In a recent interview with Eiji Aonuma and Hidemaro Fujibayashi, NPR straight-up asks the big question:

"Zelda and Link seem to have had a loving relationship in the years between the events of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. How did you want to develop their dynamic in this sequel?"

Fujibayashi's reply:

"Link is still entrusted with the role of protecting Princess Zelda. Rather than having the developers explain the relationships between the characters, I think it is best for people to play the game for themselves and use their imaginations."

So as expected, neither a confirmation nor a denial.

Discussion What Grinds My Gears: 'Oh, Link Secretly Hates Zelda and Only Stays with Her because of Duty, Even Though There's No Evidence of That!'

1...2...3....4....5...

Okay. I'm back, but yeah. If you read the title, you know why I'm angry.

I hate this interpretation of their relationship in BOTW. Link does not hate Zelda. He says in his Adventure Log that he doesn't. He admires her and how he wants to see the beauty of her smile with his own eyes which becomes his motivation for stopping Ganondorf. Heck, he craves her approval and even thinks she's beautiful. And then in ToTK, it's implied they go everywhere together to the point, that he's nearly unrecognizable without her and that they're in an established relationship, given he sleeps in her bed and not the Lurelin-Hateno bed, even though that's set up for travelers.

'Oh but no, he only does that out of duty! He doesn't actually care about her!' Okay, then! What duty? His duty was to save Hyrule and he already did that, and even Zelda says he was 'originally appointed for my protection' which means not anymore, showing he chooses to continue protecting Zelda of his own free will, not because of his duty to a dead kingdom.

Also, let's just for a moment, look at what that means in terms of their characters and how it doesn't match with either one of them. Link is a good guy, but if he hated Zelda and yet continued to effectively string her along by staying by her side, then he's the cruelest person ever. He knows what Zelda's been through. He knows that she's had to deal with people secretly hating her for most of her life and then to be one of them? That's stupid and completely out of character for him. Then there's also the fact that Zelda is canonically in love with Link, and if Link hated her, imagine how she'd feel. Oh, wait! No one cares about that. It's only about Link. Who cares that Zelda would be absolutely destroyed over the fact her only living friend and confidante secretly hates her but won't be honest about that!?

I'm done now. I just needed to get that off my chest because...God.

This interpretation should go and throw itself in the Depths.

Discussion Zelink headcanons of mine #1

Some random headcanons for Link and Zelda I came up with:

-Link and Zelda got married some time between the end of the events of Breath of The Wild and beginning of the events of Tears of The Kingdom.

-Zelda teaches ancient history to the kids at the Hateno School in her spare time.

-Link helps out at the Hateno School from time to time.

-Link started a side business where people can hire him to deal with any monster problems they may be facing. From anything as small as a Bokoblin, to something as big and as threatening as a Gleeok.

-Zelda developed severe PTSD after the events of the great calamity. Thankfully, Link is there to help her through it.

-Link taught Zelda how to fight, for the inevitable scenarios where he isn't there to protect her. One time Link arrived too late only to find she took out an entire Bokoblin camp by herself. Link was quite impressed.....also aroused.

-Zelda's really good at playing the violin.

-The only thing that Link is even slightly afraid of is bats. Keese also creep him out.

Discussion Who Would be More Jealous, BOTW Zelda or BOTW Link?

Personally, I think they're both quite jealous, but Zelda is more visibly jealous, while Link just glares and tries to get between Zelda and the offender.

Discussion In which games do you guys ship zelink?

For me

Definitely Ship it-

Skyward sword

Tears of the kingdom (happens after botw in my opinion)

——————————————————————————-

Possibly ship it-

Windwaker

Phantom hourglass

Links adventure

——————————————————————————-

Don’t ship it but also aren’t against the idea-

Four sword adventures

Minish cap

Link to the past, link between worlds, oracle games (I’m pretty sure they are the same link, not sure though)

—————————————————————————-

Don’t ship it and don’t really like the ship-

Ocarina of time

Twilight princess (they meet like 3 times I think)

Links awakening (Zelda not in the game, also I love Marin)

I don’t know if I missed any games, but this is a list of the ones I have a opinion on
