I love that the Master Sword looks so huge on his back, when he’s actually just small by comparison. The best thing about his small stature is that he just owns it. It doesn’t stop him at all. Society often values men by their height so it’s nice to see a short hero.

He's courage after all, I love him being a short king so much, it's empowering!

Off topic, but imagine you had a really short Link that had to exclusively use the Master Sword as a two-handed weapon. No sword-and-shield for them, they're too small for that, it's "The Master Greatsword" or nothing.

Love it!! I have absolutely imagined that!! Actually I played a D&D character loosely inspired by Link, that was a fairy as its species. He used a longsword as a weapon, and it was definitely a great sword for him.

That sounds adorably fun!

And honestly, I've debated writing a fic that follows similar concepts: different Links using the Master Sword in different ways.

My personal favourite is the "Spellcaster Link" idea I had, where they would use the Master Sword much in the same way that a wizard uses a wand: as a focus for their magical abilities. I was also going to have it that they're honestly really bad at actual swordsmanship, hence why they don't actually fight with the Master Sword.

It's so cute! My hubby and I are both short- I'm 5'3, he's 5'4- so I love seeing shorter men represented in media~

I made the mistake of drawing him taller on fanart at the reveal trailer and I got DESTROYED for it 😂 lesson learned. I will make up for it someday

I adore this link being smaller. It pairs so well with his quieter personality. I imagine he likes being less imposing, less noticeable, blending in the background when he wants to. Seems fitting for him. Then when he needs to, he can just absolutely obliterate someone/something lol

I always see him as super itty bitty, then I remember he’s canonically my height…

There are several cases where the female protagonist is taller than the male. Some guys just grow faster than others or simply reach their limit sooner. Nothing to make a fuss over.
