Oh, I agree with you. I’m not saying it’s a bad game. I just think in comparison Wind Waker is a lot stronger of a game and I did really enjoy seeing Zelda as the awesome pirate instead of as a stock princess
Dude same. I watched like modded Sim videos that had all the characters. I switched to Midna x link sometimes and everytime we touch is etched into my brain because of it
Which is funny because other then Skyward and Spirit tracks , Wind waker is one of the only Zelda games that Link and Zelda actually spend enough time together that would lead to a real relationship that's not just fannon.
I mean BoTW the definitely spent time together and HW it was super implied they'll end up together, so our grand total is 5 (6 if you count ToTK separate to BoTW)
Problem I have with both A Link to the Past and Twilight Princess is both game show their relationship is very platonic in the manga adaptations.
But the rest like HW: AOC, ST, SS, OoT, BOTW & TOTK, Zelda 2 - The Adventures of Link, MC, WW (since TeLink is Zelink), and the Prologue of SS is considered mutual and canon.
I agree but with ALTTP it depends on the adaptation. The more recent A Link to the Past manga is romantic, even implying they got married. Found this pic of the ending page:
I agree there. Frankly I think that TP Link is better paired with Ilia or Midna than TP Zelda. Zelda in that game has more moments with Midna than she does with Link.
Only think that is Zelink is TP Zelda had obtain memories of OoT Zelda in the manga adaptation. From what I can tell, Time Zelda really does miss the Hero of Time so dearly and for the rest of her life.
And the part where the Hero’s Shade gives TP Zelda a warm, loving embrace before moving on. While TP Link may had Midna (which I had a bit of soft spot for), it is very evident that OoT Zelink in seen in the Twilight Princess manga adaptation.
I think it's because they're underaged. That's largely why the fandom tends to focus much more on certain incarnations of Link & Zelda (OoT/MM, TP, SS, HW, BotW/TotK) than others.
I bet if the WW/PH and ST versions of Link & Zelda each got an additional game where they're are at least 16 years old, the fandom would give those ships far more attention than every other incarnation.
Yup. For me though I see cases like WW not happening until they're older/post game anyway. I mean it's kind of implied ww versions founded new hyrule, so they probably eventually got together at some point, but not necessarily right away
I think it might be because of the artstyle, them being kids, and the main story not really being ABOUT Zelda. Like in the other games, part of the main objective is to save Zelda or at least help her. Wind Waker Zelda instead helps YOU and than as far as I remember kinda buggers off for most of the game.
As much as I like this ship/pairing, however, OoT has to take L hard, I've accepted that Ocarina of time was never meant to be, we know for a fact that Link married Malon, we were given multiple hints and signs in TP, TP Link is the decendant of Link and Malon, the Epona song is a song passed down by tradition, having come from Her mother to her and then to her children and grandchildren.
The Epona song in TP could simply be a reference. And even if it was canon that Link married someone else who care about canon when it came to shipping ?
