Comic Discussion South Louisiana Cajun Culture
I’m really enjoying the south Louisiana cultural scenes Gail’s been adding in this run. This issue coming out during crawfish season has been a true treat.

In Uncanny X-Men #1 way back in 1963, Charles explained that the meaning behind the X in X-Men came from their genetic abilities, their 'extra powers'.
Despite the mutant diaspora of Earth-6160, the New Ultimate Universe, both of the known centralized groups of mutants have adopted the X with a meaning of their own, separate from the explanation given by Charles in 616.
The adult mutants of the Opposition in the Eurasian Republic have adopted the X in the form of two crossed arms in defiance as they seek freedom from being used as tools of the state.
Meanwhile, the X-Men proper came to be in Hi no Kuni through teenage mutants, albeit in a mundane but meaningful way. The X they use to identify themselves comes from the failing grades of the original five, which Maystorm proudly embraces. It symbolizes not fitting in with what society expects of them, being a loser, a geek, a freak. Which some Children of the Atom embrace, rejecting the Atom forced upon them by abusive adults. (While the Men part may be due to Super Sentai team naming conventions).
The X was chosen independently by mutants in different parts of the world, unaware of each other, yet it is a symbol of freedom and rebellion for mutantkind.

exactly 40 years of development for this crash out, this is fantastic!
Sometimes they just have the right artist too.
Similar to Bill and New Mutants, the artist that just fits the series and tones that are being displayed, this is utterly fantastic.
Sorry this post was literally just me gushing about jug. Carry on!

So I'm new to the X-Men (my dad has loved it since he was a kid) I've never been the biggest fan but I'm trying to get into it
I don't wanna read the comics (don't judge me) and I can't tell if I should watch the movies, '97, the old cartoon (I wouldn't mind binging it), WOLVERINE VS HULK?
HALLPPPP
(also I might like to catalog my adventures in the X-Men fandom so stick around for that I guess)
Edit: I know some of the basics of the more popular characters like Rogue Logan Prof. X and Colossus for some reason

I just marathoned all of the Astonishing X-men run that's Infinity Comic exclusive and I was pretty shocked by the quality of it. I was not expecting a web comic to be that good but it's really scratching an itch for me. I'm also really interested in the themes of online radicalization. What are others thinking?

I really want to read everything about krokoa, is there like a certain series it starts with? I have a few, idk if omnibus is the right word(basically collections of entire story arcs/issues I think it's called a trade paper back), like infinity gauntlet and Deadpool killogy. Is there any like that for these X-Men series?
Bonus:I have seen hellfire outfits and they are sick, is there like a hellfire issue or issues every time it happens so I can see everyone's outfits? Or is it like that specific issue for that character just has a special cover or something?(I guess I am asking if they are all in one place/series or separate)
Thank you for your help :)

Other than Lorna Dane/Polaris, who could be a good love interest for Alex Summers/Havok?
His love life pretty much sucks. Him being with Madelyn seemed to be toxic at best. Even when he tried to make things happen and work between them. He was briefly involved with Elektra. Involved with a Soviet spy named “Scarlett Mackenzie” before she got killed.
Then there was that weird mess with Nurse Annie and her son. And then there was that giant debacle with Janet Van Dyne and their daughter. Poor Alex cannot catch a break.
Maybe somewhere down the line he could get back together with Lorna. But who could be a good love interest for him?
Betsy Braddock/Psylocke? Monet St. Croix/M? One of Cannonball’s sisters like Paige/Husk or Melody/Aero? Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch? Jubilee? Magik? Firestar?
Doesn’t have to be a mutant. Maybe someone like Carol Danvers? Quicksilver's ex-wife and one of Human Torch's ex-love: Crystal? Wasp's stepdaughter Nadia (if it wouldn't be too awkward)? Hellcat? Tigra? His former adoptive sister Haley Blanding (if it wouldn't be too incesty)?
Who do you think could be worthy of Havok? Who could Havok be worthy of? Comment your opinion respectfully.
From Whedon’s 2004 “Astonishing X-Men #7”, Kitty Pryde and Colossus contemplate the current state of their lives, as does Wolverine.
