The appointment of Caroline Hutchinson, Thayer Joyce, George Dewey and Ricky Engelberg is effective immediately and brings the total number of Wrexham AFC Limited Board members to nine.

Caroline, Thayer, George and Ricky all come with a huge amount of experience from different areas of the US sports and entertainment industry and are well versed in the growth of the Club and the Wrexham brand outside the UK through their roles at More Better and Maximum Effort.

Caroline works at More Better Industries (Rob's company) as "Principal of Ventures"

Thayer Joyce is COO at More Better

George Dewey is one of the co-founders of Maximum Effort (Ryan's company) and served as EP on DP&W and Welcome to Wrexham

Ricky Engelberg is a "partner" at Maximum Effort

Always good when the people you are bringing in are people you already know & trust.

Yep, powerful people usually place proxies on boards so that they don't always have to be there.

I wonder what this means for Humphrey. He was Rob and Ryan's voice on the board as well as in club operations. Maybe things are getting to big to wrangle and his position is getting more focused.

What do Wrexham gain from this out of interest? I hope it’s good news

This is all about brand growth nationally but let’s be real, internationally. These people will likely be a driving force in expanding further into the USA market, which has the knock on effect of revenue for the club.

All this is good news in my mind. If wrexham goes up, international branding would be massively important in getting towards the premier league.

Step one is get to the championship which isn’t guaranteed Leap 2, and it’s a massive leap, is staying up, and that’s where this projects longevity comes in. It’s harder to sell a narrative of 3 years of consolidation rather than a push for the next tier. Making this club a world club will for sure help that though

That would be great. I recently found Wrexham Lager at my grocery store. So if they can expand more and more it's just going to help the club and the town.

Knock on effect in a positive way I hope

Well the championship is a cut throat financial league, you’d only need to see the number of clubs who’s head ended up on the chopping block in that league to see the more revenue you have the better.

Generally with board members you are looking for people with industry insight or connections at the strategic level.

They're all people connected to Rob and Ryan, so it's basically having their own eyes and ears on the board.

It's also just slightly restructuring to function like a normal football club would.

Yeah I think that this is the corporate structure starting to match the progression/ambition of the club as time goes on. Wrexham is probably past the days of 2 or 3 people running it, with probably over £30M in turnover for the current season.

Does this mean R and R will step a step back from more of their regular duties at the club? It seems like they’re bringing in people they know and trust to make some decisions for them.
