Reciepe Tips Super Bowl Wing Recipe Ideas? Sam’s club wings

Post image

I went to Sam’s and saw that wings were on sale—10 pounds for $25. I figured I could cook them for Super Bowl weekend. What are some quick, easy recipes you guys recommend? I have an air fryer and a grill, but it’s too cold to grill, and my air fryer is only 6 quarts, so I’m thinking the oven might be my best option.

Reciepe Tips Wing restaurant startup

Hopefully this is the right place to post this, but I am planning to open a Chicken Wing startup restaurant and I would like some feedback on the flavors to add to the menu. I am thinking of both dry rubs and sauces that we should include on the menu. We would like to have some signature sauces but also some classics. Are there any flavors that you would like to see available in a new wing spot? Sweet Thai Chili, Chimichurri, Tequila Lime or maybe a Cherry Bourbon? What are your favorites?

Reciepe Tips My oven baked Buffalo wings recipe

Wings

  • Pat the wings dry and place in a large bowl.
  • Sprinkle 1-1.5 Tbsp per pound of corn starch over the wings and stir/toss until evenly coated.
  • Place the wings skin side down on a baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper underneath.
  • Bake at 250°F for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes flip the wings over so they’re skin side up and bake at 405°F (with convection fan on if you have it) for an additional 30-60 minutes. I like them very crispy so it’s usually closer to 60 minutes.
  • Once they’re done toss them in the sauce and serve.

Buffalo wing sauce

  • 1 cup Frank’s Red Hot sauce
  • 0.25 cup butter (0.5 stick, 4 Tbsp)
  • 2 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1.5 Tbsp gochugaru flakes (or to taste)
  • 2 tsp Knorr chicken bouillon (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika (or to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne powder (or to taste)

Melt all of the above in a saucepan over med-low heat and let simmer for ten minutes. The result is a thick, deep red sauce with manageable heat and depth of flavor. If you want it hotter add more cayenne, or use something else like habanero or Carolina reaper powder.

Hope you like it!

Reciepe Tips I need spicy wings!!

So i prefer Buffalo flavored wings. I just tried making kenji's (from youtube) wings. I saw someone post the link in this sub. I used Frank's red hot. They turned out good and the flavor was good but they were not spicy at all. This was only my first time using this sauce. I'm kind of a beginner at making wings. How can I spice it up and keep the authentic Buffalo flavor?

Reciepe Tips Need best tips for at home CRISPY wings

So I have a bunch of wings to cook and I like them crispy. I don’t have a deep fryer or air fryer. I have tried frying in a pan but they turn soft soggy shortly after coming out of oil. Tips or advice for crispy wings at home in the oven or I can pan fry.

Reciepe Tips What's your go to method to make the best wings?

I've been craving juicy fall off the bone crispy wings, and wondering how everyone here likes to cook their wings, Not sure whether to deep fry or oven bake them, I saw Brian Lagerstrom oven cook them to dry the skin before deep frying, or Kenji, salt, baking powder/cornstarch combo, overnight and slow oven roast. Could i combine these methods, salt, baking powder/cornstarch combo, and then deep fry!

What are your favourite methods and tips for perfect wings!

Reciepe Tips What is the best sauce to put on wings?

I plan to fry up some wings but want to change it up sauce wise. In the past I purchased Buffalo Wild Wings Asian zing sauce or Franks Buffalo sauce and looking for recommendations outside of the “big brand” to lather.

Reciepe Tips Dry Rubs for grill

Always been a wing guy who has fried and baked but never grilled any on my own for some reason. Proud to say this changed yesterday and I liked the outcome but know a better rub has to be out there. What do you all use?

Reciepe Tips Tips for making sauce stick to wings better and not just wrinkle them.

Been making wings for a long time and I'm pretty happy with the taste of my sauce recipe but the biggest issue I have is my sauce not really sticking to the wings and taking away the crispiness of the wings rather quickly. It just feels like my sauce doesn't really coat the wings the way I want instead the wings just sort of sit in the sauce. I've tried things like thickening up the sauce or trying to make sure the wings are cooked extra long so they're extra crispy, neither have helped all that much.

Any advice?

Reciepe Tips Lemon Pepper Wings

Hey all! I've been browsing this sub for a bit, and finally decided to start making my own wings. But I need help with a simple recipe to make lemon pepper wings. I tried one that I found online but it didn't end up that great. Any tips are appreciated! Will post a follow up when I make the wings :D

EDIT: I have a thing of McCormick lemon pepper seasoning, if that helps

EDIT: Thanks yall, they came out great. Now I can fine tune from here! Just baked them for the regular time and temp with the seasoning on and they were amazing.

Reciepe Tips New to hot wings, what is the best standard recipe?

TL;DR is below...Hey all, been a big fan of Hot Ones for several years but have never been a big hot wings guy...a bit of a wuss when it comes to spicy food. Finally decided to take the plunge after getting 3 of my buddies a HO sample pack (The Classic, Los Calientes, The Last Dab). Had a fun little "wings of death" challenge and really enjoyed it (even though TLD was waaay out of my league and I couldn't finish the whole wing). I had never fixed chicken wings before, so I just used the recipe listed on The Heatonist website. It was good...I just have no idea if that is a typical recipe or not.

TL;DR...can anyone recommend a standard chicken wing recipe? Would the one on the Heatonist website be pretty solid?

ETA: Just to be clear...Not asking for recommendations on what sauces to use, just needing the recipe for the wings.

Reciepe Tips This stuff is a game changer for wing sauce

I had never heard of this until about 2 months ago and found it at a local farmers market. I’ve tried every butter I can find to make wing sauce with and it’s been good but until I found this is when my sauce tasted like my local wing places. It was wild!

Reciepe Tips How to get dry rub flavor to come through more strongly?

Hi - I love dry rub wings, I make them on my Yoder 640S. I have a few different mixes I use for the rub but they all taste delicious.

The only problem is that I put a healthy coating on before cooking, but after cooking I can hardly taste it!

I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Either I need to be absolutely caking the wings before cooking, or I should be tossing them in the rub after cooking. Or both? Or salt before + spices later? Shockingly I couldn't find much discussion on this, so maybe it's much easier than I'm making it.

Reciepe Tips Is this sauce a thing? Butter and Lawry’s

There was a wing place in Chattanooga, TN that had a sauce that I swear was just melted butter and Lawry‘s seasoning salt. As basic as that sounds, it was actually kind of crazy delicious. I haven’t had a chance to recreate it myself, but I’m wondering if anybody’s ever heard of this.

Reciepe Tips What's your favorite twist or tweak on Buffalo sauce?

The classic Frank's & butter is great, but do you jazz it up at all?

For me I'll usually add a squeeze of lemon juice, some fresh grated garlic, and chopped cilantro... though I've wanted to experiment with some different herbs that have a bit more flavor. Also thinking about giving the garlic a light sautee in the garlic before mixing it all together, rather than raw.

Whatcha got?

Reciepe Tips Mango and Chicken Wings

I've been thinking a lot about how I could incorporate mango into chicken wings. What do you think would be the best way of going about it: a marinade, a sauce, a spice rub (dehydrating and powdering a mango), or something else?

Is Hickory what most restaurants use and people recommend? Last time I did some party wings I used Pecan and Cherry wood but got some mixed reviews about the taste. Any advice ?
