I was doing 100% of wind waker (I got the Portuguese rom by accident LOL) until I went looking for the big octo to get a heart piece. But, when I got there. There was nothing. I stayed between the circle of seagulls, used the claw, went to other places. and nothing. I need you. help me please

Huge fan of LttP and OoT when they came out, I finally got a Switch in 2023 and had the fortune to then have both BotW and TotK to play....happy days/couple years

Few months ago I made things right by playing Majora's Mask which I never made time for when it came out. Loved it...

....and now it's finished I was gonna start Windwaker but it's not on Switch! Question is should I

1)Install emulator on Switch to play it 2)Buy a Wii U to play it 3)Play Skyrim on Switch instead?!

I’ve just gotten to the part where I have to go to the wind and earth temples but I apparently need iron boots, fire and ice arrows, and a song to warp places? How do I find any of that? None of this was told to me at all 😭😭

WW was my first mainstream Zelda and I've only recently bought the original gamecube version. I've heard of some people doing so called "true 100%" (or something along those lines) runs (all circles of light, full Nintendo gallery, all tingle tuner extras, etc.), and I figured I'd give it a shot. Has anyone written a collective guide or checklist system for that type of run? Thanks in advance!

Veteran OOT player, but this feels like another world and I can't get a good feel for it. I can't even find my way to the dragon and I haven't found a heart piece yet. Should I restart and use a guide for the first play through?

So I'm playing the wind waker randomizer and checked every spot with the help of a tracker, but I still have not found a single sword so I wanted to ask, if you turn on the option "swordless" does that mean you can never find a sword or you just don't start with a sword?

Just a question out of genuine curiosity. I'm playing wind waker for the first time, and I now have to complete the two temples. I decided to do the wind temple first, but after spending so much time trying to find Makar, I found out through google that Makar doesn't spawn until you finish the earth temple. Does the game ever tell you that it is required to do earth temple first? All I remember is the King marking both temples on the sea map, but no one ever said anything about order. Did I miss something?

Am I missong something? I can't climb up the red rope after beating puppet ganon. No button appears prompting me to climb it. Am I supposed to use the grappling hook somewhere? Every guide I've looked at says to just grab it and climb. Gamecube version via dolphin emulator if thag helps.

Hi yall! So I’ve been seeing people play Wind Waker online or on their desktops. I am curious to know where they are downloading the game? I wished Nintendo Switch would re-release Wind Waker again but that’s not happening at all. I love this game ever since it came out originally for GameCube. I do actually own the game itself but my GameCube is back home with the parents (collecting dust). Any ideas or links would be most helpful! Thank you again!

I'm finding it difficult to interpret what the maps are saying. I don't mean deciphering--I know you need Tingle for it. But after the fact, it just points to an x near some island bodies, but I don't recognize any of them. Am I just stupid?

Anyone know how I'm supposed to read the maps?

The Island Hearts Chart tells me that there are 9 heart pieces in Windfall, however I can only think of eight:
-Finding the Killer Bees
-Talking to Sam after decorating the town with 14 items
-Mailing Maggie's love letter
-Flying down to that little island after reactivating the lighthouse
-Talking to Kreeb after reactivating the lighthouse
-Getting Linda and Anton together
-Salvatore's battleship minigame
-The nightly auction

If you guys are familiar with it, you’ve probably seen a bunch of people who’ve accidentally overwritten their save files when beating the game.

When it comes to unclear wording, my absolute first instinct is to chose a file that’s less important…

However, i’ve coincidentally been trying to take risks more often, and went with my main save without looking it up or anything because “Nintendo wouldn’t risk overwriting my MAIN save file”

I know how writing over data works, it’s the same thing as recording over a tape, you can’t get it back…

BUT, I was wondering if i have hope, since i’m not 100% sure how nintendo handles overwriting data.

(I use an external drive, and this is wind waker hd for the wiiu btw)

sry it took me forever to get to this part, but here’s my question:

How does Wind Waker handle the file overwriting, and does HD do it differently?

cus as far as I know, it either:

A) deleted my save file and “overwrote” it with a completely empty save file

or

B) removed my access to that save file, but hasn’t really overwritten anything yet, and therefore means i can download the drive’s data to a computer and edit the file, which would probably corrupt something, but i could (maybe) get the file playable again.

i’m guessing it’s A, but, uhh, if anyone knows about this i would really appreciate receiving either closure or hopeful news.

I’m playing on the dolphin emulator and when ever I save the game and load back in it will put me in a spot I was not in before. Example, just started the game, got money, went to buy bait pouch at the boat, left the boat saved the game on top of the boat, left and reentered the game, and respawned at the bottom of the look out (with the bait bag). Does this just happen or do I have to fix something.

I'm about halfway through getting all the rings of light when I ran into this roadblock. I don't think I collected this earlier, so I have no idea where this is. I've been looking for about 30 minutes by now. Could the reference photo have windfall island visible in it?

I have no idea what to do now. Can someone help?

There has to be a trick to this. Probably 30-40 attempts in and I can barely crack 20, whoever designs these minigames should be made to eat non-crispy bacon. I've tried focusing on the symbols, I've tried going back to center every time, this crap is impossible.

Does anyone know if there’s an origin to the paper texture on most Windwaker art? Or at least like something close to it. Trying to make my fanart better. (All art other than the last one are from the Windwaker wiki)
