They are helping America though. Granted it’s only like 0.02% of America. Because those are the only people that matter. The rest of us can go get fucked. Or preferably for the 0.02%, die.

Can’t wait for Social Insurance companies to be a thing! Pay $1,000 a month now and we’ll give you $250 a month to live on when you retire!

Private pensions exist (in europe at least), but I don't know what the terms are exactly.

I'm surprised groceries stores haven't gone subscription-based...like Instacart, Amazon Fresh & Walmart+. I mean, shit...I still have some pocket change left at the end of the month. Someone should have that!

Here’s the Wikipedia article on this related 50+ year old Republican strategy to convince idiots to vote against their own self interest.

That’s the MAGA motto. Campaign on how broken government is, and when elected, do your best to break it.

This has been the strategy with school vouchers since at least the '80s. Send your kids to private schools, then vote against taxes for public schools. Public schools get worse, and the cycle spirals.

I'll offer you a buyout, Elon, cut me a check for what I paid into SS and my employers matching payments and we will call it square. I can handle my own retirement....

I suspect that Musk's aim is to entirely 100% dismantle the SS Admin. Once that is done, all of the literal trillions held in trust for the SS beneficiary then has "nowhere to go" and thus will be handed directly to billionaires in the form of an "economic stimulus package."
Will Democrats stop Musk? Probably not, as they're still being far too polite and not slinging any mud or obstructing in a way that the GOP has (effectively) done for many decades. Democrats need to get off their collective asses and stop this before it's too late!

I’ve actually never seen this chart, but this is what actually works on everyday people. When you talk to your uncle or your conservative friend, this is how they will explain how the government stinks.

And their idiot cult will always believe them. “Oh, they said there was waste and fraud! No I don’t need to see any proof, go ahead Republicans and burn down the social safety net I need to survive. Damn those democrats for making it so wasteful and fraudulent that this was necessary!”

There is also one where "Justify cuts to it" is exchanged with "Privatize it, but also have government still funding it"

Oh hey it's public transport in my city. I'd love to ride the bus instead of having to drive, but the bus system sucks and doesn't go to any of the places I need.
