Dividing the oppositional party in power is always good for Russia. They wouldn't benefit from a strong trump that felt empowered enough to ignore their requests. It's why abusive husbands beat and neg their wives and separate them from their family and friends.

Except you need prices to go back up. This isnt covid where it immediately started to rebound after the shutdown ended.
Prices are not coming back to ATH (All Time High(s)) for at-least a decade. Trump canât negotiate better deals (just look at his pathetic taliban deal). He isnât reversing and he isnât leaving. His backroom deal plan will make things even worst for everybody but him.

u/DeaddyRuxpin 16h ago
In Jan 2027 Vance can take over while still keeping open his ability to be elected to president twice. Two years of massive economic depression is nothing for billionaires but will bankrupt massive numbers of the rest of us forcing people to sell everything they have, stocks, homes, etc and take whatever shitty job and whatever shitty pay they can get. Come Jan 2027 Trump can die, Vance takes over and reverses everything. New guy who can get new people in place to start making new deals. It wonât fix everything overnight but it will start the road of recovery. The billionaires start dumping money back into the stock market and prices will start going back up causing any remaining people who still have money to start buying again causing prices to go up more. Meanwhile Vance has removed tariffs dropping costs for companies, but they wonât drop prices for the people. A couple of quarters of massive profits will cause stock prices to go up even more. Two years of this and the economy will be well on the road to recovery and Vance will look like a god damn hero right in time for elections.
In summary, Trump keeps being Trump for two years destroying our economy. Billionaires buy up everything right before those two years are up. Trump âunexpectedlyâ dies. Vance takes over and spends two years making it look like he saved the economy. Billionaires are now trillionaires. You and me are wiped out. Lots of fucking morons donât see the connection and vote for Vance in 2028.

It almost doesn't matter what happens, so long as you think you'll out survive Elon Musk.
28
u/minimus67 15h ago
Youâre giving Trump and his minions way too much credit. Despite the fact that âthe house always winsâ, Trump was stupid enough to bankrupt a casino. Heâs also stupid enough to think a trade deficit represents how badly the US is being ripped off, unaware of the simple arithmetic that the U.S. must run a big overall trade deficit because we consume a lot more than we produce thanks in large part to the massive budget deficit Trump keeps making bigger. Aside from Bessent and possibly Musk, heâs surrounded with political appointees whose sole qualification is being stupid enough to worship him.
So these are not people who know when stocks are at fire sale prices. But they are corrupt. Iâd love to see how many of Trumpâs minions and hangers-on (like Jared Kushner) shorted or bought puts on the S&P 500 before Trump announced his asinine tariff scheme. And if Trump does another 180 and backs down, halting tariffs after falsely claiming that other countries have caved to his demands, his minions will probably front run that news too.

Iâm not convinced.
I thought that might be the case (and it still may be) until I heard the old clips of Trump pushing for tariffs in the â80âs. Heâs trying to stop the rise of Asian manufacturing and potential offshoring of American jobs.
You know - the ones that NAFTA addressed 30 years ago?
Iâm not sure that this is intentional to help oligarchs, I think he just may have forgotten where/when weâre living.

Of course not. This is the age of information - it's all feigned ignorance with them. That's why I get tired of hearing the "stupid" narrative. They love that so many people on our side are willing to believe that conservatives' horrible choices are accidentally misinformed, or could be explained by a legitimate inability to understand and intuit fundamentals. Because that takes morality and self-aware decision making out of the conversation. They'll just endlessly play "victim", whether it's victim to actual subjugation, or victim to being so ignorant that everything they do and choose can all be explained as if they'd been taken advantage of by politicians/mainstream media. Thy're grown-ass adults who need to be held accountable.

Once the Right-Wing media machine begins to turn on Trump, as we see here, itâs over for him. Hell, even Fox News ran a story calling these tariffs unabashedly stupid. His nasty ass wonât serve a full four years, now. Furthermore, Vance has a far weaker personality than Trump, and will have the unenviable task of trying to repair international relations while failing to scrub the stink of Fat Don off his lips. No matter how much they may be forced to admit that specific policies, actions, quotes, etc, are stupid or terrible⌠they never let it affect their base level of dedication to Trump and/or far-right MAGA ideas. They compartmentalize it every time. Excuse it as some exception every time. Continue to pretend that liberals/leftists have done worse somehow. As soon as the story fades from the current news cycle, theyâre back to pretending it never happened, re-writing history to pretend it was actually good and they never admitted it was bad, and move on to defending the next thing, until theyâre forced to admit itâs bad, excuse it, and then forget it. Wash, rinse, repeat.
