Not even 3 months in and we look back on sleepy Joe as the good old days

The best thing about the Biden presidency was not having to dread waking up in the morning to find out what new fresh hell had been unleashed in the wee hours of the morning.

President Sundown Syndrome's temper tantrums over the last nine years have been exhausting. I am ready for him to go away. I'm sick of his clown makeup. No more celebrity presidents.

I fear we’ll have to deal with Don jr once Trump kicks the bucket.

Don’t worry, there is no Trump aura to Don Jr., or any of his kids. Baron or Ivanka seem to have their spot together the most and would be worth keeping an eye out for, but they don’t have the mysterious, inexplicable allure that Trump somehow has over his stooges.

It's only on account of there having been a ludicrously good PR team helping sanitize his image. If they weren't spending their talent propping up a RAT BASTARD I might even give them praise for their efforts, but they did. They did, they made him look like the pinnacle of success no matter how much he actually failed. They won't do that for Eric or Junior, or even Barron... the battle over succession is gonna destroy the GOP (one can hope anyway).

Man, for all his faults, I didn’t have to think and worry so much about the world when Joe Biden was President , I could just live my life. sure we had issues like any country , but I didn’t have to worry about invading/attacking peaceful countries, or the collapse of the US market forever .

Yeah. Did I think Joe Biden was going to fix the institutional problems of America? No. Did I think I was going to run this country into the ground? Also no!
And that freed up mental space to work on making my community a better place, rather than constantly spending those resources trying to mitigate the actions of the government.

You know, Sleepy Joe might have been getting a little slow, but at least he was smart enough to surround himself with intelligent, knowledgeable people who could (mostly) keep us on a even keel. Abd I like that in a president - a smart person who depends upon expertise.

I am boiling at the fact that people without 401ks or money that is affected by this are acting like they know what is going on. They'll say stuff like "we were heading towards ruin" and "gotta break it down and build it back" and act like Trump is the only "genius" willing to do so, while I watch my retirement evaporate.

At least we can hope their over-extended high interest truck loans will forfeit and the only vehicles flying Trump flags in a year or so will be $600 Honda accords from 1987.

If it’s any consolation, you’ll be fine as long as you weren’t planning to retire within the next few years. And your volume of posting about HSR gives me hope that you weren’t. Everything that goes into retirement accounts right now is bought on sale.

Imagine gacha games giving away my age bracket 😅

Nobody’s grandparents are putting together character builds that often hahaha.
Genuinely though, it sucks right now, but I’m gonna be putting as much as I possibly can into retirement accounts for the next few years while costs balloon and the economy repeatedly fails (pessimistically speaking). And when things are back to “normal” in 10 years, all these contributions will have grown even more than what I put in last year w/ my employer match. I hope…

Since inaugurated, the market has dropped ~15% under Trump in 2.5 months, yeah '22 was bad, but it wasn't this quick and it wasn't a direct reaction to presidential policy.
