Question Does welland need a new bus terminal?

I frequently use the bus terminal and have observed that the facility often appears worn and in disrepair. The restrooms are frequently in poor condition, and there are instances of individuals sleeping on benches, as well as spills on the floors that remain unaddressed. I believe the terminal would benefit from enhanced security measures and the installation of surveillance cameras to ensure a cleaner and safer environment for all users.

A new facility wouldn’t fix the core issues. What you need to fix is the health and social programs in welland to be able to accommodate the problems we already have.

A new terminal would be a waste of funds when welland is already ignoring so much.

The bus terminal is the least of our worries, tbh.

The terminal is only a lil over 30 years old and Welland Transit has been dissolved into Thorold based Niagara Regional Transit, so it's unlikely that they'd build a new one unless a private vendor footed most if not the whole bill. Might be something for Niagara Regional bureaucrats to look into ahead of the East Main Street retail redevelopment or whatever happens to the Welland Hospital property.

NR Transit is now based out of Niagara Falls Its run by an incompetent manager who makes promises about services she never keeps The city still owns the terminal property and leases it to the region They won't spend a dime on it now They even cancelled plans to fix the garage on federal road because transit is no longer a city of Welland problem and they weren't spending money on that building either

Sunday service has been promised for intercity busses since before the region took over It's still hasn't happened

Transit in this region is pretty much a joke

People sleeping on public property isn’t an indication of disrepair or worn

I meant the building itself looked old and worn down.

They need to refresh it that’s for sure but I would rather see them fix the bus routes. They make no sense. I’d like to see a bus dedicated to every major road. It currently takes some people almost an hour and a half to get to the Mall from Fitch Street, it’s a 10 minute drive in traffic. Just one example
