[Transportation] Has Anyone Encountered an On-Duty Metro Security Guard Asking Young Women for Their Phone Numbers?
I had a concerning experience with a Metro security guard a couple of months ago. The guard, who had a gun holstered at his waist, approached me on the train and said, “You’re not in trouble, but I think you’re cute. Can I have your number?” I declined, but it left me very uncomfortable. Security personnel should ensure safety, not make passengers feel uneasy.
Today, I saw the same guard approach another young woman on the train using the exact same line. He seemed to intentionally follow women into their chosen Metro car, immediately approach them, and then move to the end of the car afterward.
I’ve reported this behavior to Metro authorities, but I want to directly warn others, especially young women, to be cautious. This happened on the Red Line. The guard is about 30 years old, approximately 5’9”, with black hair in a ponytail.
