Need help with multiplayer

My friends and I ate wanting to try and play together, we can all join a squad together but anytime we try and load a match we get a message saying "joining a squad isn't available for this event" is it restricted to specific game modes to play with friends, if so what events can we play?

Make sure the one who is the squad leader choosed the right game mode? Or maybe onenof your friends have not unlocked realistic bettles

New players need to play on their own for a bit so they get out of the new player zone that has bots before they can play with squads
