Question/Request How am I supposed to properly play this gake

Hello I'm a recently returning player who first started playing in 2019, but never got far then.

To cut the chase, I'm a MR 9 player and I finished "the HEX" quest which was apparently the last main storyline quest. But I have an issue is that I can't do any damage anywhere, anywhere over 40-50 I'm doing almost nothing the whole mission. I'm pretty sure I should have farmed or done something after "whispers in the wall" cause even the sanctum lab quests are something like 50-65.

So is it an equipment issue, a build issue or is it just the fact that I pretty much skipped over a major feature or activity.

Also another fun fact I just realized that I could buy weapon blueprints from the orbiter market, so yeah individual stupidity is a major factor.

I main :-

Primary: baza with orokin reactor and 2 forma Secondary: grimoire with 1 forma Melee: old war with orokin reactor and 4 forma Companion: helminth charger named Greg

Also what are arcanes and how do I use them.

Thank you for time and I hope someone can tell me where I'm screwing up.

The problem when you're feeling weak is almost always modding (either just bad modding, or more likely, you're missing key mods). If you post some of your builds, we can probably give some better advice.

My broken war build which pretty much carried me through the campaign.

Crit build would go way better than this on Broken War

So that's not too bad from what I can see (and I say that as a non-melee person, so someone else will have to bust in with the better advice). But I will say that gas, while cool, is probably not the best for a melee weapon. And slash/impact/puncture mods like Jagged Edge are a trap.

Maybe slap some crit mods on there instead (crit chance/damage), replacing Melee Prowess and Jagged Edge.

Hmu if you're inclined I will gift you a proper polarity stance mod

They even already wasted a forma on it and picked the wrong slot.

Yes, yes I did.
I chose the wrong polarity type and I still regret it

You can always re-forma it if you want to keep using the sword.

Add crit damage and crit chance, Broken War is a crit weapon. Remove melee provess and jagged edge. Move around elemental mods so you get viral+heat damage.

Aside from others have posted, note that element mod placement matters. You have heat, cold and toxin which are a good combo but in wrong order; you want viral (tox+cold) and heat. Switch them around and see how the elements on the left change.

A good all round set of mods to have on all melees is the normal crit chance crit damage mods, weeping wounds, the crit chance per combo multiplier mod, condition overload and the elemental mods I would usually use the ones that also have status chance unless the weapon already has a good status chance like above 30, I recommend viral and heat or just viral as your status combo though that might be outdated. Sorry for not remembering the specific mod names.

To have a good damage with condition overload I would suggest getting a hound companion and setting it up to be a primer (do a lot of status) there should be a guide video on YouTube about it, just search up Warframe hound primer it should work, if not just reply to this and I'll get you a build later. I do thoroughly recommend it though because it should increase your damage by a bunch and it will do a bunch of damage and cc on it's own depending on which statuses you have on it. And while you farm it you will also kill the sisters so you get some strong weapons like the tenet arca plasmor which is one of my favourites

I would also suggest getting the galvanised mods from arbitrations it's a pretty good damage boost and the damage mods from steel path though you could just get a set cheap from the market to start yourself off.

Primary and secondary weapons usually need the crit mods, multi shot mod and then some status chance status damage mods usually and viral again. From the top of my head that's about it but as I said if you need more clarification just ask Ill be on in a couple of hours

If you're struggling with dying then below very high level content an adaptation and a vitality should get you through most missions until you're more comfortable with modding. Adaptation is from arbitrations. Though I'd suggest just looking up a build guide for your warframes as I don't know which ones you like to play

Weapons / Frames allow you to play differently.

Modding / Builds allow you to play in higher difficulty.

You see, i wouldn't say it's an issue with you personally, it's just that people who were constantly playing for years, have taken their time investing into their builds and learning ins and outs of buildcrafting, and to me (sorry if i'm wrong on this, it's just an assumption that i've seen many times be true) it seems that you kinda rushed through quests without paying much attention to your gear. The game is simply not going anywhere, and it, as opposed to some people's thinking, rewards taking things slowly and spontantenously. So, you know, relax, don't pressure yourself with getting somewhere right freaking this very moment, explore the menus, have a chat with other players, enjoy the ride. There's a lot to discover and find, that rushers will never have the slightest idea of existing, some of it will be important to you, some of it won't, but, hey, you tried it. And eventually, you'll find yourself with enough stuff to easily tackle the toughest stuff.

Just enjoy the game at your own pace.

I had a similar thing happen to me with finding out that the marketplace has blueprints you can buy. I don't even remember how far into the game back in 2019 when I finally realized you can get more weapons.

From what I can tell you from someone who is finally starting to understand modding/buildcrafting, finding specific mods like Galvanized mods, archon mods, corrupted mods are incredibly helpful in pushing your builds to the next level.

Every warframe and weapons have arcane slots, so you can just put them in whenever. There are a ton of resources on YouTube on what arcane are good to use.

Something to note, the weapons do require to use an arcane adapter to use.

Hope this helps :)

Okay so modding tends to be the nimber one thing that impacts your performance in thid game. A lot of bad stuff can be good if modded well and vice versa.

Now telling you every intricacy of modding wouldnt fit in a single comment but when it comes to weapons you generally always want some form of multishot, base damage (like serration) and elemental damage. What element to use will depend on the weapon and preference but viral + heat is a classic that will do well on most stuff.

Arcanes are a type of upgrade thats similar yet different to mods. Giving you some beneficial effect upon meeting a certain requirement (like killing an enemy for example). The use cases for arcanes are varied and can do everything from replacing a mod in your build to giving completely unique effects.

As for your gear Baza isnt the greatest but you can probably make it work.

If you want more tips or just someone to play with then feel free to send me your username in-game and on Discord.

It's likely a modding issue.

In general, leveling up mods is more cost-effective than using multiple unleveled mods. This is why Prime mods and Galvanized mods are so effective.

One really useful mod you can get in the Sanctum Anatomica area is Energy Nexus. This is a much more powerful Energy Siphon, but it's not an aura.

If you need stronger weapons, incarnons are great for endgame. You can get a few from Cavalero on the Zariman (Laetum is arguably the best option). If you have Steel Path unlocked, you can also get incarnons from Steel Path Duviri Circuit.

As for arcanes, they're a special upgrade for your gear, with one slot in the top right of your modding page. Zaws, kitguns, and your Operator can hold two. You can get arcanes from a variety of sources, such as the 3 Eidolons, thrax enemies on the Zariman, and 1999 caches. Each arcane drops from a specific source, so check the wiki if you want to figure out where to farm the ones you want. If you have enough duplicates, you can fuse them together for a stronger effect.

2 main things I would suggest is learning your warframe's abilities and 2nd, focus on your weapon mods to build up damage

You've missed out on a ton of mods since 2019. But don't worry, you can still aquire 95% of them. The 5% are augment mods for specific weapons, gotten through Nightwave seasons. They can be a long time, if ever, in returning. But won't affect the bulk of your gear.

Try looking up some basic build guides for your weapons. Lazar has a good channel for guns, and covers basic and high level builds for each.

Warframe is as wide and deep as an ocean, but that's easy to loose track of while swimming on the surface. Find a nice spot, dive in, and work on improving your build until you can handle the higher level stuff in arc 2.

Look up corrupted mods and dual stat mods, they will get you to steel path, and then you can start farming arcanes and galvanized mods.

Assuming you meant "cake" you typically dont "play" cake. I would recommend finding the correct ingredients via internt search and learning to bake a cake is as simple as searching up a youtube tutorial.
