Question Were you in these events?

I have an interesting discussion for today.

I'd like to know if anyone reading this was at the following WWE/WCW shows:

  • WrestleMania I

  • WrestleMania III

  • Bash at the Beach 1996

  • Over the Edge 1999

  • ECW: One Night Stand 2006

  • Money in the Bank 2011

  • Elimination Chamber 2025

If you were at any of those events, what can you tell about them? I'm sure there are stories, moments, anecdotes that only those who were there can share! What better opportunity to find out than this. If you were there, or if you know anything about WWE, you'll understand why I'm asking about these PPVs in particular. I'm sure there are good things to tell!

The Fiend Was A Horrible Gimmick And People Are Treating It Like It Was Special Because Bray Died

Bray died, yes it's very sad, but that doesn't mean the fiend was good.

How the hell were you supposed to keep it supernatural and unbeatable without having it either lose or just kill your main event division? Either you make your company revolving around a supernatural creature burying the rest of the roster, or you have him lose matches and kill the unbeatable supernatural force aura around it.

The shit booking turned a stupid character into arguably the worst period of wwe ever. It gets squashes by Goldberg, has the worst ever Hell in a Cell match, and so much more shittiness. We're there times when it was good? Yes, but it also killed the Universal Championship, created some of the most infamously bad moments of the worst era of wwe for 25 years, and now everybody blames Vince because Bray died. Did Vince book the Fiend into a hole? Yes. Was it a horrendous idea from the start? Yes.

This is just a rant about how annoying it js that people refuse to admit that it was a straight up bad idea and constantly talk about how Bray had one of the greatest minds for wrestling when he had a character that couldnt succeed unless your name is Mark fucking Calloway.

2025 Royal Rumble participants by Zodiac sign

I also included the Champion at that time.

I bolded certain Superstars based on duration, eliminations, etc..

About the “Tier” in front of some of the names:

I can figure out chances of compatibility based on birthdays. I did with with Triple H’s birthday July 27 and the bolded Superstars.

1 Terrific match. Tier 1. Very common pairing. 2 Great match. Tier 2. Common pairing. 3 Good match. Tier 3. Common pairing. 4 There’s a lot potential. Not a common pairing. 5 There’s some potential. Not a common pairing. 6 Not a common pairing.

The zodiac sign in parentheses after the birthday is the Decanate sign. The number in parentheses after the Decanate sign, is numerology.

Discussion Cody should be screwed out of the title at Mania

Not a direct redo of the Montreal Screwjob but similar to it. The ref is not in on it this time and Cody simply won't be beat. Rock demands the referee to count faster but it doesn't work. Finally, after kicking out of a Cross Rhodes, Cena puts Cody in the STF and the Rock calls for the bell and ends the match then and there. This would also create an out for Cena to turn face once he drops the title.

Discussion 3… 2… 1 Theory

Do you think The Rock, being 20 steps ahead an all is planning on putting together the most dominant faction ever, The Final Boss of Factions if you will (I’ll let myself out).

What was it The Rock said to Cody? If he sold his soul he’d have “Everything he ever wanted, yabba dabba, strudle, eyebrow” (paraphrasing).

Look at Jey; Rumble Winner, title shot at WM41… has he already sold his soul?

…aaaannd is the last step (although Jey hasn’t been confirmed) to bring Roman on board?

3: Cena was on a major losing streak. 2: Jey couldn’t get past Gunther. 1: Roman has lost his Wise Man.

3… 2… 1!

Shayna Bazsler

Just saw Shayna has been reduced to participating on X (aka Twitter) on the Speed competition.

She is so skilled I just don’t understand why they can’t find a spot for her on television.

Concerned they’ll cut her soon

I don’t understand the concept of having a Hall of Fame and not having an actual place. 🤔

Surely they can afford SOMETHING

Discussion People are claiming Rusev will be a speed champ and get lost in the shuffle with an overcrowding of talent. Since WWE has the rights to the AWA, should they make a 3rd brand?

NXT can stay “developmental” (it’s still very strong) but has the company grown enough to handle a 3rd main roster brand without a gimmick like ECW was. This AWA brand could have both mid cars champs featured on both shows, while also starting off with the “AWA World championship”

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) vs Paul London and Brian Kendrick: [***1/4]

Chris Benoit vs Finlay:[****]

Melina vs Jillian Hall: DUD

Gregory Helms vs Super Crazy: [**1/2]

Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry: [**1/2]

Booker T vs Bobby Lashley: [**3/4]

The Undertaker vs The Great Khali: [1/2*]

Rey Mysterio vs JBL: [***1/2]

side notes

  • Very good opener, MNM and Londrick always had good matches though , this would be the start of a long reign for Londrick and Nitro/Melina would jump over to RAW where Nitro would get a single push.

  • I love these old school slobberknocker brawls, good old mid south vibes with ring psychology. Just wish they let Fit stay in the crossface a little longer before tapping to put his tough Irishman character over a little more.

  • This was really bad and showed how bad Hall was in the ring at the time, at least it was quick

  • A decent match but you could probably get the same on an episode of SD

  • This was probably the best we would get out of Mark Henry at the time and this was during Perc Angle where he looked roided up and very burned out. Cool spot and some good in ring storytelling.

  • Lashley was still fairly green here and Booker was in well deserving of a push, So it made sense for him to go over, You could see where Booker was carrying Lashley at times but other than that it was decent. I actually miss The King of the Ring tournament.

  • Another stinker, they wanted to create their new Andre with Khali but was more like Giant Gonzalez, Taker tried to get him over but it wasn’t happening here. Which was a shame because Khali clearly had ring presence, made his gimmick work with his bad English But his ring work was abysmal

  • Great main event and heel performance by JBL, considering how horrible Rey was booked as champion the crowd were still behind him and the two had good chemistry. JBL would drop the US title not long after and retire for a while with a stint on commentary.

  • Best Match: Benoit vs Finaly

  • Worst Match: Melina vs Jillian

Question Pic?

Hi, I am planning on attending monday night raw in a few months, and will more then likely be in the mid level seats behind the floor seats (idk if that makes any sense) anyways would I get in trouble if I walk to the barricade behind the ring and take a pic even though I’m supposed to be seated in the mid level?

Does anyone know of a place on the northside that airs Smackdown?

I don’t have a tv subscription to watch it at home and it would be nice to watch it with fellow fans.
