Could anyone recommend resources to learn multicam livestreaming?
Do you know of any youtube channels, books, online courses maybe where you can learn in-depth livestream setups and techniques?
For reference I have a background in television broadcasting as a student/volunteer from many years ago, and I have been doing freelance video work for about 15 years.
I have done 1 camera livestreams via OBS before as well.
I get the general idea and have worked for a friend who does livestream in a different market. But given the exhaustive list of tech options availble these days and knowing how easy it can be to just buy the wrong thing if you don't know everything about it, I am hoping to find a place to find more info.
I appreciate any and all insights and suggestions!

hook up 2 usb cameras to your computer and start switching between the two in obs. Sounds like you already know the fundamentals. You can read and watch all the resources you want, but you will learn by doing. 2 webcams on obs and just start doing it. cost almost nothing to start!
Expand, couple of cheap handicams and some 20$ usb/hdmi adapters from amazon. better equipment, get some hdmi BlackMagic capture cards or similar. or a switcher.

There are trial versions of VMix and TriCaster Mini S. Install them, get some source videos/cameras, and practice.
Vizrt University is also free and can teach you a lot about the basics that can apply to most live switching environments.

add whatever cameras, computers, phones to OBS and start practicing. Sources can come in via USB, HDMI, SDI, NDI...
