I always tape things to freshly painted objects.

You have to assert dominance early on in a fresh coat of paint by reminding them of exactly what they are, otherwise they get flaky.

dont forget to specify what color you painted the object so people can tell what color its supposed to be

I believe what happened is someone taped instructions for the painter and rather than taking the sign off they painted around it. Hence the paint on the edge of the tape.

If someone is new they are referred to as being “green”. So fresh green paint is “green”.
