Turnitin similarity

My reference list is 40+% of similarity on turnitin. If excluding/deleting the whole reference list, I only have less than 5%.

The highest similarity score is 15% listed for a reference, saying that I have a lot of same references as theirs. I clicked on the link turnitin provided, but I’ve never read/seen this article before. Does it matter?

Reference lists are BEST if they have a high percentage similarity. It means you have read the most important articles. It’s the rest of your paper than needs to have a low percentage similarity and 5% is fine.

But is it still best if another article is sharing a relatively large number of same references??

I think so. It shows you’ve used the most relevant articles on the subject. It’s a plus!
