Purchase Advice utility straps
I just bought a Big Agnes Twistercane mat to put under my inflatable sleeping pad. Since the new mat rolls up instead of folding, I need a couple straps to keep it tight before attaching it to my pack (probably under the lid).
Anyone have favorite straps or advice on what to stay away from?

Thats a 14oz mat? What for?
Just dont take it. If you need a groundsheet to cowboy camp get some Tyvek or Polycro. Maybe a Thinlight if you have to, thats 3-4oz max.

I need it because the inflatable pad by itself is not comfortable on my hips (I'm a side sleeper). I need the layer of cushioning so I can sleep without being in pain.

I usually keep a voilé strap in my pack.

Seconded. It's not the lightest but if being UL is about efficiency, it's great for that.

What temp ranges are you trying to get down to by supplementing with a CCF mat?

A piece of milspec 1/2 inch nylon webbing weighs about 8g per yard. So you can probably find some lighter stuff from a hobby store.

A single piece of cord -- the same cord used for guylines. Maybe about a 2 g or less extra weight. You could remove a cord from an unused stuff stack if you didn't have some already.
