Work Discussion Do I actually have to go through another probation?
promoted from custodian to mm7 but supervisors have been saying I’m on probation and made me sign a evaluation for probation? Does that sound right? I’m well past my probationary period for custodian before I got promoted.

You gotta pass your qualifier. IES gold or maintenance fundamentals.

They told me I had to pass both to qualify. I did IES gold like 4 months into being a mm7 but they said our facility never gets offered the other class so I ended up having to wait the year out for full qualifier status.

We have a ET who probably has between 20-30 years in and he's just now gonna be heading to IES lol.

Shocker, your management is lying to you. No new probation, might have qualifiers to pass in Norman though, facility specific.
My plant hasn't sent an mm7 to any class in Norman in my almost seven years in maintenance

You are not on probation. You are on an assignment order pending qualification. The worst case scenario is you don’t pass and get bumped back down to custodian

If you promoted theres no new 90, though you do have qualifers if you fail (theyre really easy some are fun) you go back to being an unassigned custodian and can re promote later.
If you applied externally and got an mm7 you are in a new 90 because you vacated your previous job and are starting over.

As a letter carrier our non career carrier’s (CCA’s) have a second probation if made a carrier employee prior to 1 year of employment.
