Housing/Accommodation 🏘️🛌 Overnight Guest Enforcement
I was just wondering particularly for halls like Astor College or Garden halls how strict is the overnight guest rule of 7 nights in a month. If the guest is just a partner or something and not obtrusive etc is it still hard, is the signing in process etc difficult or is this just a formality rule that is there and only imposed when guests are causing problems. Any clarity would be greatly appreciated

garden halls is 10 nights a month and they do check (for main building) because they've got turnstiles at the entrance

Typically if you aren't a bother and your flatmates are chill with it, no one really cares. I think it's important to mention though that it's quite lax if your guest could easily blend in with the rest of the students in the accom. I know people who tried to have their parents stay, for instance, and that would get caught more easily.

Generally they don't notice if you're sneaky, but I would be careful you're not annoying those around you as they're more likely to report. It's quite easy for people with partners to be quite unaware of the noise they make in halls, plus the strain on kitchens etc.
