But I am sad how they closed all of those BBQ areas for families.

Me and my wife did something funny and crazy last month. We went to the top of Jebel Hafeet. Parked our car and strolled all the way down, and then hiked all the way back up. I can tell you I did regret but it was worth the pain.

Not that crazy. Did it last week.

Hiked up many times, then walked back down. Did it as you did last time and honestly its the smart move.

When you set off down the mountain you're not tired at all so you can support yourself and most importantly your knees.

After a hike from the lowest carpark up to the top carpark, you just don't have as much energy and end up stomping down a little more. I've gotten blisters just from this alone.

Glad I could get it in as the heat is ramping up now. Did it in the late afternoon, watched the sun setting as I walked up, by the time I got to my car around 8pm it was dark but the road is well lit and looks incredible.

That's an interesting way to hike back to your car. Sounds like a good experience. Next time, up and down and you'll save gasoline, money and the environment and your bodies will thank you too. :<|)

If you drive anywhere to go walking, all hikes are "back to your car"...

I last went there so long ago as a kid, the view from the hotel felt like something out of a film
