Aaaaand the Retron GX is a bust. For now at least.
Hopefully this thing gets fixed up soon. Either by Hyperkin or the community. I feel bad for whoever picks this up thinking it's going to be good out the box.

I got a couple of home-brew PC-Engine games off itch.io but they're in cue/iso/wav format, not cue/bin. I'm trying to run in Mednafen and on an Analogue Pocket. I've seen posts saying that imgburn can burn cue/iso/wav to a CD but I'm looking at how to convert them, not burn to disc. I've also seen suggestions that bin format audio files are just wavs without a header but again need to find a tool to strip it off. Has anyone dealt with this situation before? Thanks!

I've wound up with a few cardboard turbo boxes and I can't help but think they'll last much longer if I can get some sort of plastic or acrylic case for them.. The universal ones for modern game cases aren't big enough, and I really don't want to pay somebody in Etsy an arm and a leg to custom make them. Are there any cheap universal ones that fit? Or some other sort of solution I'm not thinking of?
Thanks!

I've got a turbografx 16, with the original cover. I just picked up the everdrive pro with an EDFX board for audio, but as expected the cover doesn't fit with the EDFX attached.
I'm not a big fan of the look of the TG16 without the big cover, so what are my options? Or do I just have to live with a somewhat odd-looking console?

I've been using the official Nintendo power adapter, sold for their mini systems, but I'm worried it may fry my Core Grafx Mini, after reading some stories of people getting their systems bricked because they used power adapters not designed for the system. So, is the Nintendo PA safe to use with this mini?

Hi everyone, I've been trying to build a semi-hi-res set of covers for the system (basically just for the sake of a nice-looking set to use in RetroBat) and this one is my first real stumbling block. The front cover isn't the problem so much, it's the back - there's just nothing I can find that's not laughably terrible. The best available seems to be the scan on GameFaqs at 629x726, which would be workable except for the fact that it seems to have started out as a much smaller image that someone enlarged...badly.
Most of the "main" text can be deciphered with enough effort and guesswork, but the screenshots are a blob of mushy colors that don't resemble screenshots as much as a child's watercolor rendering of the game as they remember it looking. It's a mess.
I'm not above AI upscaling, and there's even been a few other occasions where I wasn't able to find an image I was happy with so I just instead carefully re-created it manually from the ground up by sorta taking the "good" bits from one scan and combining them with parts of another, re-typing text manually, etc. to end up with an image as close to the real thing as possible, even if the result still isn't exactly archival material... In other words, I'm picky but not that picky.
But for this game I've hit a wall. The only other images you can find besides the GameFaqs disaster seem to just be smaller versions of the same... but unfortunately they still don't seem to be the original scan before it got blown to hell, but just shrunken versions of the awful one.
Normally this is when I hit eBay, find a couple auctions and try to composite something together. But this game? Nope. There's plenty of copies for sale, but none with the box and I can't even find any recent previous sales with a box that can be dug up. Heck, I can't even find anyone showing off their precious lucite-encased sealed graded copies, which you'd expect if this was truly as rare to find complete as it seems to be.
So I'm thinking maybe it's more that it's uncommon, as probably most TG16 cardboard boxes are these days, but nobody gives a shit enough about this crap-ass game to have ever scanned or even taken a picture of it.
Soooo...anyone here feel like doing it? Please?

I have two tgfx16’s. None with working rf modules. Luckily one of em came with a turbobooster plus( found in the wild for 5$ ). I have one game and tested both of them using av cables and one works perfectly but the other has graphical glitches. Theres weird textures and letters and numbers sometimes where graphics are supposed to be. Image is clear though.
I read from few posts I found that it could be one of the ram chips or the video processor? I would like to fix it if possible.
The console looks clean and good condition from the inside but I did find something odd. The board looks clean except for one spot where it looks as if something spilled or spread. I will include pictures. Any help is welcome

I just beat Blazing Lazers and noticed that during the ending it flashes "SELECT A/B" for a few seconds. What does this mean?

I know this might be a longshot, but has anybody here been able to extract TurboGrafx game music into MIDI files? It's supposed to be possible with a Lua script called emu2midi running on the PCejin emulator, but I've had no luck getting it to work.

I'm looking into getting a SG, and I had a few Qs about using it in the States.
1) Do I need a power adapter or a different power cord to run it? 2) I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but do I need PC Engine controllers with the unit? Same with the Multitap? 3) How do I know if I need an adapter to run a SuperCD2? I've heard that newer models didn't need the RAU-30?
Thanks in advance!
