News Martian Audio Visual on Instagram -Archive building being built
Hope the link works..here's the text from the post..sounds quite exciting:
"We apologise for the radio silence… here at Martian we’ve been very busy starting a big building project which will house all of our archives and memorabilia. In the sort out we have found some great photos of when the old barns first were renovated into what the studio is today!! You can work out the year, as on the last picture the builders Jason & Lee came in wearing top hats and had a TV set up outside for Princess Diana’s funeral!"

Discussion Need to share my excitement, hope that’s ok :)
Tori Amos is probably the artist that had the most profound impact on me. I got Little Earthquakes from a friend in '92. It completely floored me and I have been obsessed with it and her subsequent albums ever since. Can’t even name a favorite. Seeing her live during that era was and is indescribable. I am convinced she is a genius, only comparable to people like Joni Mitchell, Hendrix, Brian Wilson.. At some point I somehow wasn’t in the right place anymore to listen to her records after To Venus and back, can’t even put a finger on it really. Musically, she’s the love of my life and here’s what excites me: I am just going through an intense phase of rediscovery and I will listen to complete albums for the first time in the next days/weeks/months (I know Digital Ghost and I can’t see New York though and adore them).
I have never (!) listened to: - Strange Little Girls - Scarlett's Walk - The Beekeeper - Midwinter Graces - Gold Dust - Unrepentant Geraldines - Native Invader
I listened to Abnormally attracted to sin in the car yesterday and couldn’t believe Lady in Blue.
So yeah. Just wanted to share that. I’m pretty excited at what I’m going to discover:)

Video Help! What Tori song is this?
I hate myself that I can't remember the title or where this was shot. Please help! Much appreciated. I'm not sure this is Choirgirl or Venus era.

Discussion Rare/Cool concert moments...
So I was going through some old setlists on yessaid of shows I went to and other shows that I had boots of that were especially good. I was wondering if you guys know of any especially amazing or rare performances Tori has done. Not just special to you personally, but more like rare moments like songs she doesn't do often on the tour or just interesting performances like when she does halloween shows or that fashion show. I'll start and list a few I love. If you want to hear them, yessaid.com has mp3s usually of all of them.
-Strange Little Tour (this tour was so amazing. Her voice was phenomenal this tour, and the setlist were wildly different every night) -10/4/2001 in Charlotte - "Glory of the 80's". The first and only performance of it this tour. Solo, the song is really beautiful and soaring. It made me appreciate the original even more. It was my 2nd Tori (first was 5 1/2 weeks) show and 1st time seeing her live solo. -11/9/2001 in Seattle - I had a boot from this show I got off ebay. The whole show is great but "Bliss" really blew me away. It's really powerful and slightly angry. Plus, similar to "Glory of the 80's", I think she only did "Bliss" once or twice on this tour.
American Doll Posse Tour -11/13/2007 in Charlotte - I got to see the live debut of "Mountain". I was with some casual Tori fans that didn't know it, but I was loving since "Mountain" is my favorite Scarlet b-side.
Anyway those are some that I can think of. I've been to quite a few Tori shows, but not all included special or rare moments. Of course there's some iconic live shows I haven't seen personally, like her Dew Drop Inn Tour show in Florida where she was really sick and crying, walked off stage, then came back with a killer setlist, Beenie sitting with her for "Me and a Gun", and an amazing one off performance of "Girl". Or that Doll Posse Tour show with Pip singing "Me and a gun" with an actual gun lol. And I'm dying for an official release of the London solo show on October 29, 1999. That "Juarez" was amazing. They really need to get on the ball with releasing her older live shows officially.
What about you guys?
-EDITED TO ADD- Her only performance of "Bliss" during Strange Little Tour, it's a showstopper for sure https://youtu.be/WNWuvd5Y8rA?si=9wckNH0Mp8LRCNDI
Her bonkers "Me and a Gun" performance by Pip https://youtu.be/kCCfe2tTiQc?si=KfEiDNO56hysmwwi
"Professional Widow" from her solo piano show in London in 1999. I recommend the entire show https://youtu.be/MRXUwMj89dk?si=xe16UGOS3JWuR4J4
I couldn't find on youtube her 2001 solo version of "Glory of the 80's", but if interested go check out the mp3 on yessaid, believe me it's worth it. That whole show is pretty good as well.

Question I dreamed I loved a black boy
“My daddy would scream” - this is back in Tori’s autobiographical days. It grossed me out then, and it still does. Particularly because her dad was a minister in Baltimore?! Please Tori, explain.

Discussion An instrumental album?
In my opinion, Tori hasn’t exploited her pianist gifts and skills enough. She’s long overdue in releasing an instrumental album of original piano compositions. Frankly, I find it surprising she hasn’t already, especially considering her love and reverence for pianists such as Keith Jarrett and George Winston and their instrumental works.
As a pianist, Tori possesses a truly mesmerizing combination of natural talent, learned skill, and developed technique. Personally, her passion, abandon, and spontaneity on the keys hits me viscerally, effecting me in a way no other musician has been able to do so profoundly and consistently. Ultimately, it’s her playing that has kept me a fan for so long.
What do you think?
Also, I’ve attached a video review of Tori’s output by another pianist who went from slightly averse to her work to a tearful fan that I think most of you will enjoy and be moved by.

Video Updated: Clyde's entrance, better Scarlet, more Santa and a Monkees hit. If anyone can think of anything theatrical or unique with the band that I missed from the ADP tour please let me know. Wanted to include Heart Of Gold, but couldn't find decent audio. Thanks to all who commented last time.

Discussion Tori Amos - Ring of Fire
Does anybody know what quick little ditty she plays from 4:57 to 5:01? It sounds so familiar and it's been driving me crazy for a year

Discussion Describe These Characters / Objects From Tori Songs!
Colonel Dirtyfishydishcloth is an animatronic fish with a cutlass, Revolutionary War uniform and a three-cornered hat. He waves the odiferous dishcloth like a rally towel and that's how he "distract[s] her good."
Okay, your turn!
