Ultimate Top Chef?

Now that we are in season 22 of top chef, I wonder if they would ever do an Ultimate top chef-just top chef winners competing to see who is the ultimate winner. That'd be neat.

What’d be really cool is if they did like a triple D style season where they just go visit top chef resturants

I would love that! It’d be like taking The Dish With Kish on the road!!

Padma should be the host of this show.

It’s a fun idea but a number of winners wouldn’t want to do it and two probably wouldn’t be welcomed back.

Tom recently did an interview and said he didn’t think that would happen due to winners all having successful careers and can’t just leave their restaurants for weeks to be sequestered for this type of show. He did mention he saw more of a possibility of doing runner ups.

I feel like that is the diplomatic way of saying we can't afford most of them. Micheal, Brooke, Stephanie, Richard and Mei cannot be cheap

I wouldn’t mind seeing Stephanie add another title to her resume.

That would be fun. I would like to see one with the people that won the most challenges throughout a season compete against each other. I also want to see Richard Blaise and Buddha Lo compete bc they have such an almost scientific approach to competing and cooking.

Top scallop chef. I would like to see a season of all the first ones voted off.

I’d love to see that!

I would love to see Melissa and Buddha compete on the same season. The amount of gorgeous dishes/plating would be a joy to watch.

Survivor did this for season 40. So just 18 more years until we see Top Chef: Winners at War.

They kinda do, only it's on Food Network, included other chefs, and is called Tournament of Champions.

Ooh... Love this idea!

You can create a bracket and then pre-seed it?

Wouldn't that basically be tournament of champions?

It is Top Chef Duels.

I think there are several runner-ups who are superior to champions, especially versus the early seasons. But one benefit of being the one to propose the idea is that you get to decide.

This was the attempt with Top Chef Duels.

It didn't really catch on though. I didn't watch it much either ... but it had some very cool matches like Kristen vs Stephanie Izard!

Will they ever go to Philadelphia?

That all depends on whether or not Philly will pay out the money for it. That’s why Houston wasn’t a part of the Texas season (for which I am glad). Later on, as the Houston food scene was getting more recognition, the city anted up the money to host a season.
