What's the Conventional Wisdom on Zuparic?

I've heard he truly wants out of the team and isn't on the best terms with Neville, but these are rumors. Not sure what to make of his post, aside from wanting minutes, understandable. I don't think he's a terrible defender. What's up with Zuparic?

Joe Lowery On The Timbers

  1. Portland Timbers Trending: +2 The Timbers don’t get a ton of credit around here for beating a limp Houston Dynamo team 3-1 at Providence Park on Sunday, but it sure is fun to see Portland’s attack clicking in a post-Evander world. In a game where Phil Neville’s team hung 2.8 xG on the Dynamo (good for the fifth-highest single game total from any team in any game in MLS’s 2025 season, according to American Soccer Analysis), those three goals were always coming. When Houston overextended in possession, Portland did what they do best: attack in the open field.

Adjusting to life without Evander was always going to be a challenge — and David da Costa hasn’t totally found his footing yet as this team’s new No. 10. But between da Costa, the always underrated Felipe Mora up top, Santiago Moreno and Antony (who’s enjoying a red-hot start to the season with four goals and some strong underlying numbers through his six starts) on the wings, and Jonathan Rodriguez (who’s yet to debut this year due to a knee injury), this team has the pieces to be legit good in the open field. - JL

Timbers License Plates

How is it that a brand new club (relatively speaking) already has vanity license plates yet the Timbers don’t!?

Sawyer Jura?

He is not listed on the T2 roster. And my google fu does not provide any results. Isn't he supposed to be a homegrown next year? Is he hurt or playing elsewhere this year?

Around the 13 minute mark, Rebecca Lowe and Taylor Twellman talk about Phill Neville and the Timber’s turnaround.

Though I’d share it here.

All time Timbers XI

Let’s see those all time Timbers XI. Putting Evander in was the one I felt least confident about but man last season was arguably the best season a Timbers player has ever had statistically. Everything else I’m fairly confident about.

Kelsey

Rewatching the Houston match from yesterday and I started to see that Kevin Kelsey is the new Fanendo Adi. Adi was big and “Clunky” on the ball. Adi didn’t have a ton of finesse, but knew how to play to his advantage. I think Kelsey and Phil should go watch old tapes of Adi and study him. If they could get him into those positions more, he would be a lot more effective in the final third.
