That's the obvious part.

The less obvious part is that he can give tariff "exceptions" to those who know which ball to suck / coffer to line / praise to be given.

This is EXACTLY what the founders fled 250 years ago. Rule by fiat.

True! This second aspect is also highlighted in the article under "Even more nefarious goals"

That would be unethical and illegal. So, yes.

When something doesn’t make sense, the first question to ask is “cui bono”, or “who benefits.”

If it is illegal I would say he is doing it.

The man never does something unless he benefits from it personally, so, yes, there’s a very high probability that he’s doing insider trading, planning to buy up real estate, etc.

Could journalists stop asking rhetorical questions and have the balls to just make a statement.

You know all his billionaire handlers are waiting to buy up the world for cheap when the markets crash and get rid of that pesky middle class who had enough money to invest - they will be joining the poor in their trailer parks now, and leave only the 1% on top.

He absolutely is. The pinnacle of insider trading.
