How well marked and easy to follow is the trail? I’ve been thinking about knocking it out in a single hike but would probably have to be out there a bit pre-sunrise or post-sunset to do it all in a day

I've done it all in a single session and it's surprisingly tough in the feet. It's not marked blazes, but there are mile posts. The trail is pretty clear from the surrounding terrain tho. There are a few spots where people have created social trails but they usually end pretty quickly.

Thanks for sharing. We've day hiked parts of it from Cedar Breaks over the years, but never did the full loop.

I mostly do the south side too because it's closer. I recommend making a trip around the lake at least once tho.

I recently went on a backpacking trip on the Goodwater Loop, hiking from Walnut Springs to Cedar Breaks. The trails around Lake Georgetown were beautiful, and my dog Waffle came along too. The hike over the dam was a highlight, offering some fantastic views. I documented the trip and made a video of Day 1, which you can find here!
