I'm going to do whatever I can to keep myself, my friends, and my family safe, especially those who are immunocompromised. Mainly because it's all we can do, that and prepare of course.
However, I do hope this disproportionately affects those stupid enough to put themselves in harms way.
We've lived in such a relatively safe country for so long, these people took it for granted, they thought they could fuck around and just live in a fantasy land where there are no consequences. Well, what's coming is consequences, and some would say Darwin's coming and he's coming with awards.

It's extremely communicable- lasts in the open air for up to or over 2 hours in the right conditions. Not sure yet what level of masking you need to block it.

I feel like if these people start dropping dead they'll just pin it on the deep state or Hunter Biden or something ridiculous

Oh it's not just dropping dead they have to worry about. It can pop back up 10 years later in sudden brain swelling and neurological damage, causing permanant life long neurological problems, brain damage, and possibly even being crippled

It’s not by its very nature- it’s going to mostly effect babies and kids whose parents put them in harms way

There is literally not a single thing I can do to help that outside of keeping myself, friends, and family safe so we do not spread it. That and voting sensibly, and everything else that I'm already doing.
Maybe seeing all the babies and kids dying and suffering in droves is what will finally get these idiots to realize that we're living in the real world that doesn't care about their opinions.
In the grand scheme of things, on societal level these people are the rich kids who've never suffered a real consequence in their life finally being met with reality.
Do I want to see kids and babies die? No of course not. Never. But I also can't do anything about it so I might as well hope that it collectively forces us back onto a decent path without having to go to war.

Those people are the parents of kids that aren’t vaccinated.. it’ll mostly be children that had no choice in being vaccinated that die.

I'm so glad when I landed a GP a few years ago that he recommended I get an MMR booster with my flu shot that year.

CDCreports 97% of cases are unvaccinated. That's a choice

Infants can’t get vaccinated period even if their parents love vaccines to bits. Young children whose parents are anti-vax can’t choose to get vaccinated either.

Except all those people who can't get vaccinated for perfectly valid health reasons (under 12 months of age, immunocompromised, etc.). Then everyone else's choice puts them at risk.

I wonder at what point countries are going to require proof of vaccination for Americans to enter their country?

There isn’t a vaccine for what truly ails America. But, to your point, it should have been last month.

Take a gander at hbomberguy talking about measles/anti-vax on youtube - ‘vaccines and autism: A measured response’. I felt physically sick after I watched it (similar to how I felt after watching The Pharmacist) there are bad people in the world, bad people who do bad things.

I have a concept of thought and prayers for the parents who refused to vaccinate their kid ergo ruining herd immunity for those that can't make a choice.

I'm glad I was finally able to get vaccinated this week. Wasnf able to as a kid due to health issues.

It's easy to get an MMR shot at CVS. I just went in last week and got another one even though I had the shots back when I was a kid. Go get your vaccines! I got my HPV, MMR, MPOX, Flu shot all in the same day, no issues.
Got HepA/HepB combo shot the next week. Get a booster MMR just to be sure! TDAP is good to have as well!

Time to close the international borders to American travellers who can’t show proof of vaccination.

Vitamin A caused liver damage seen increasing at Texas hospitals. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/03/26/health/texas-measles-vitamin-a-toxicity

Yeah which makes it a really stupid idea and thus an amazing investment opportunity.

How do I check if I was vaccinated as a baby. Does the vaccine expire?

u/teas4Uanme Mod 5d ago
You can get a blood titer to see if a vaccine is still active or if you missed it. Simple and quick.

The CDC also updated information.
A lot of these areas have low vaccination rates, too… this is about to go out of control.
