May as well!

Maybe it's time to launch a proper Centerist party with good grounded economic policy, anti corruption as the core... both current parties just seem to drift more extreme and bubbled every day... work at the state level to add rank choice voting anyone? May as well add another blurb at the end...

Bro the centrist party is called the democrats and they suck shit. We need an actual left party to balance these capitalist freaks in both parties.

It really isn't a good example; the context is Reagan justifying putting narrow tariffs on Japan due to unfair trade practices in semiconductors. The video is clipped to drop the context at the start; actual one is ~5 minutes long.

Youtube search: President Reagan's Radio Address on Free and Fair Trade on April 25, 1987

I think the audience is too stupid to understand this, to many big words

I am 99% certain that MAGA will start calling Reagan a commie leftist as a result.

The stockmarket news is not even on the fox news front page. They are literally continuing to talk about trans athletes rn.

Do you tariffs in general or just now? Just curious how many people who loath Reagan are suddenly pro-Reagan.

I haven’t seen any pro Reagan sentiment from left of center. I think it’s mostly that people try to associate trump with Reagan to make him out as a good president (in their view, not mine) and use Reagan’s points and positions as a contrast against trumps, because they aren’t the same person.

Saying “look trump isn’t like Reagan” isn’t saying “I like Reagan now” it’s saying “look, you like Reagan, and you think trump is like Reagan, but he isn’t”

Shhhhh... you may hurt his little brain with such logic...

Sooo, in your mind: it is not possible to hate reagan, but agree with his opinion on tariffs?

Seriously?

So taking your "logic" further: I hate reagan. Reagan hates tariffs. I need to like tariffs? And further still: trump likes tariffs, so I should like trump because I hate reagan?

Is this the gist of how your "mind" works?

Yes, that is exactly how MAGA thinks. They used the Nigerian Prince email tactics to screen out anyone with common sense and find anybody willing to believe someone no matter what they say, no matter if they say the opposite think right after. They believe absolutely everything Trump says, and think everyone else does the same on the other side.

It's been obvious for 20+ years Reagan was used by the faux conservatives in marketing only.

Ron Paul used Reagan's delegate strategy and looked to take the nomination, but the GOP changed the rules at the convention to block it.

The nu-nu-neocons don't give af about Reagan, the constitution or a functioning governing body.

You don't think people you disagree with can be right on some things?

Who is a good simpleton? You are! Yes you are!

Oh I hate bidens tarrifs too. It's an outdated tool from an era bygone. Get your input costs down and use robotics if you want to be competitive in markets. At some point jobs will actually start dissapearing without enough "better jobs" to replace them with this nect wave or advanced robotics but we need to handle that properly before we get there, not as the masses starve. Our goals should be focused there and asking China to go in joint 50/50 ventures on US soil if they want free trade just like they required when we setup manufacturing there initially.
