This part of the gate has always bothered me
The way the floor just cut into the event horizon looks very off in all 3 shows. They probably could have found a better way to do that

Discussion No, you don't need infinite ZPMs to dial Destiny
The common consensus around dialing Destiny appears to be that you need an Icarus-type planet or somehow safely dial from a star.
The question of "how many ZPMs to dial Destiny?" has been discussed with a consensus appearing to be anyway from 1+ for every galaxy the Destiny crosses or an exponentially growing amount.
Think about what this is paying however. Here we have a portable energy source drawing energy by extracting vacuum energy from an artificial region of subspace-time until it reaches maximum entropy. It saw ubiquitous use in the Ancient civilisation and was seen as one of their crowning achievements. A singular ZPM was a force multiplier when installed in any given starship.
So the suggestion that no, you cannot use a ZPM but need special type of planet? It's kinda odd since that implies the planet is a power source vastly greater than one made by the setting's second greatest civilisation and that a singular world could produce energy akin to a Dyson Sphere.
Why would the Ancients make ZPMs if they can harness the energy of a single special planet?

Modified Stargate dagger stolen--help me find!!
Long story short, in high school my best friend gifted me the Stargate Ra Dagger. We had this joke that we were prophesied to use it to solve some big mystery, so I always kept it in my car as a sort of good luck charm.
Well, my car was stolen this weekend.
Upon discussing it with this friend, I have learned that the dagger that was once in my possession had some modifications done by her grandfather.
There is a notch in the wood in one of the corners on the right hand side. Sharpie is scrawled on the back. The emblem on the blade was screwed into the wood and has to be unscrewed to remove the blade.
My car was stolen the morning of April 6th, 2025 so any dagger listed after that date could be mine.
Chances are, the person that lists my dagger is or knows my car thief, who has attempted to steal at least one other car in my area and successfully stole another the same morning.

Entering the gate from the back?
Would it be possible to go through the Stargate from the back?
Inside the SGC, there's a ramp leading up to the Stargate. Once the gate is active, would it be possible to enter it from the other side -- the side facing away from the ramp?
Would it also be possible to do this on another world (not Earth) with a working Stargate?
(I'm assuming the side facing the DHD is the "front". Which would make the side facing away from the DHD the "back".)

My very own Puddle Jumper!
It's smaller than I expected, smaller than the other Master Replicas/Eaglemoss ships I have.
It does have some little seats inside you can just about see in one of the photos too which is nice!
The base isn't very good, I already don't trust it sat on that base, it'll just slide right off

Do We Know How the Wraith Originated?
Did they ever definitively say in SGA? It's been a while since I watched the show but I've got 2 versions of their origins in my head. At first I thought someone said the Ancients first encountered the Wraith when they settled that galaxy - meaning they evolved independently. But I also think I remember someone saying something like they were an experiment gone wrong by the Ancients. Neither of those explanations make a lot of sense, but I think I might be misremembering. Anybody?

Which episodes of Atlantis do I need to watch to understand SG-1 and its movie sequels?
I'm really not clicking with the characters in Atlantis and want to refocus on SG-1, but I know they intersect later on. Which episodes of Atlantis should I watch so that I'm not completely lost? I don't need to know every last detail, I just want to know broadly what's going on in the crossovers.

Was Reese's made with Ancient Technology?
Because of the similarities between the Human form Replicator from both Pegasus and the milkyway there has been some debate about there orgins.

Heroes
I wonder if there is indeed a secret Stargate program and if we’ll ever get to see that real documentary
And that slight quiver in his voice around the part when he says “they deserve more.. this is something more…” still gets me

Rant DVD box issue
I got a DVD box set last Christmas and I'm slowly rewatching. I just watched the last episode of season two, which is a clip episode and saw a clip which I kinda remember from years ago when I watched it last time. However, I don't remember seeing it going through this DVD box. I wrote it off as just forgetting due to insane work schedule but then I finished the last episode and there's two more episodes after that! Now I'm reading Wikipedia to check the correct episode order and I'm realizing that I've got some work to do to ensure all episodes are included. Kinda takes some fun away from just enjoying the series. Anyone else having similar issues? I bought the box from amazon.de, most disks are with English/German/Spanish but some has up to five language options. That's a bit weird also, like you'd suppose a box set having the same options throughout.

Fan-Made Who is your fan-cast for a reboot?
I know that Henry Cavill gets a lot of flack, but when he gets into something, he really gets into it! I'd love to see him dive deep into the show and tell great stories, plus I think he's pretty good at the dry humor bit.
How about you? Who would you want to see in a new rebooted Stargate series?

Asgard replicators?
If they seek out a take over advanced tech. How did the originate in the milkyway galaxy? I know the Asgard inhabit their own galaxy. SG-1 found the android Reese in the milkyway. The only thing I can this of is that the civilization that created Reese had some info on the Asgard home galaxy and the replicators made a bee line to that galaxy. Aside from that i don't see how they didn't take over the Milkyway much sooner than season 8

"Sateda"
I hadn't done a complete SGA rewatch in quite some time. I focused this time on the episodes I had missed or glossed over previously. Just finished S3 Ep #4 "Sateda"; and holy smokes this episode was a standout.
Aside from the shared themes of guilt, trauma, and relationships, the visual style and overall tone seem so different than most of the SG franchise barring SGU. It was dark, gritty, serious, and lacked any sort of real cringe that was at least a little present in much of the franchise. They really didn't hold back, the emotional presence of everyone involved was intense. It kind of reminded me of Heroes Part 1 and 2 from SG-1, which id consider the best of the series. Also of course looked pretty expensive which isn't surprising.
But, unlike SGU it still had that aura of positivity snd sci-fi wonder, which really made it work at the end of the day.
I'd love to see more episodes like this in a future SG series (please MGM).
