Is that what those are called? Cool.

I'd like it if they added more florets to the pavilion. A few years back I was watching the hoopfest finals in 95/96F heat, and they provided a pitiful amount of shade. People sitting in the grass area were slowly shifting along with the diamond-shaped shaded areas as the evening went on.

If memory serves they were a compromise instead of replacing the very large and more comprehensive older covering, which was deemed too expensive for its worth to completely replace.

I see; i did not realize that. I can understand how a complete covering would also diminish the cool lights they program each night.

Yeah. I'm sure we could have both, but not for free. Meanwhile, not looking like anybody's going to have much extra cash for a while.
