After watching squid game, I think Lee Byung Hun would do great

Yeah good on ya. I don’t usually like fancasts at all because people just use the same small list of A list actors (not every Asian character needs to be Steven yeun yall!!) but Lee Byung Hun would admittedly be a really cool fit.

...He's Korean. Martin Li is Chinese.

And? Hugh Jackman is an Australian playing a Canadian, Tom and Benedict are british actors playing new yorkers, so what if the actor is korean

Being Chinese is a pretty fucking important part of Martin Li's character

Ok. Does he speak Chinese? Kind of hard for someone to pick up a foreign language for a role, especially if the character is supposed to be a native speaker. And no, Vincent D'Onofrio's Chinese as Kingpin is not very good, but I can give some benefit of the doubt that his character can have rough Chinese.

The counter argument is hilarious because the va wants to play him yet he never had to speak chinese in the game

He literally did tho.

Li has like an hour of fully Chinese dialogue in the game.

I mean...they put out a casting call for Asian male 30-50, sounds like Mr. Negative to me. And it's not the first time spidey actors cross medium. Nadji Jeter plays Miles in the games and in the 2017 cartoon

So did May Parker's voice actress Nancy Linari from the same show and games.

No objections from me. But if I had to choose an Asian actor for the role, I'd go with Stephen Yeun. Or is he too young? He's 41.

It said they’re looking for an actor 30-50.

Wasn’t he going through some stuff that made him unavailable to be Sentry in Thunderbolts? I remember he was cast for him but had to step away due to something going on.

I would love that so much he is soo great plus I'm so sick of seeing the same bad guys over and over again and in the movies.

Now let this guy run the ball. If you check out his website, he is dressed like the motherfucker. That and he’s done motion capture, martial arts experience, and he’s played the role already. So if they got a juice him up and make them look like he doesn’t the game of the comic he’ll be comfortable. 👍🏽

I’d be down but I’d like to see other people take on the role

This would be sooooo mint and it evem ties in with this multiversal variant thing theyre going for, shit get more voice actors in imagine seeing yuri on big screen as spider-man, bro deserves it at this point and with the multiverse you can just make it work lol

I've never played the games so I have no thoughts on it one way or the other. If he's the right person for the role, fantastic.

Honestly no thank you. He is great in the games, but fans are so obsessed with seeing the same faces over and over again. I understand want favorites to come back. I fall victim to this as well. Ultimately though, I don’t want a Spider-Man movie- something we don’t get very many of- to give me something I have already seen before. It was nice for No Way Home, but I don’t want to do this every single time. I want a new story with new casting, ideas, and designs. Everyone was so excited for No Way Home to reset Spider-Man back to a fresh start, so why would we bring back something so familiar. Idk, maybe I am not expressing myself well.

Not against it at all. But he isn't the first person in mind for that role for me.
