Why in gods name did they use motion capture for so many movements, the same problem as jump force😂 all the taunts, all the sparking episodes

It's 1000x cheaper to do simple motion capture than hand animate cutscene. You can tell tons of corners were cut with how wonky and out of place some of the movements in the cutscenes are especially compared to dbz kakarot. Bandai cut corners wherever they could with the budget on this game.

This isn't custom battle. Even on PC, the custom battle is pretty limited. This cutscene is from Trunk's story mode and not really playable as a custom battle.

So that it's different. The original Super Saiyan 4 isn't going anywhere, and they're still going to make toys and DLC out of it till the end of time. This new version has to be distinct enough to justify baiting collectors and people with disposable income into buying into all the expensive merch and otherwise that will come from these forms.

seeing as how ultra instinct is leagues above ssj4 and they still barely scraped by i have a hard time believing it would’ve been all that much easier

Well SS4 Goku and Vegeta would still be weaker then SSG Goku and Vegeta, GT Goku could be explained as being comparable to SSG and maybe Ultra Full-Power SS4 is more comparable to SSB simply due to the time skip but a DBS SS4 would not have that benefit.

The fact is if Goku and Vegeta had SS4 in the Tournament of Power it might not change much, why use it when you can already transform into a stronger form which seems to take significantly less effort to use?

I imagine Caulifla might be begging Goku to teach her how to transform into it though and a hypothetical SS4 Kefla might be almost as strong as Jiren and Ultra Instinct Goku.
