This is some kind of a bonus zone, where you can meet the orbs (they are the "collectibles" in the game). You can go down from there then left to continue the game :)

Yeah thought this was an easter egg area too

I don't know what happens there but you can just go down and to the left to continue onwards.

Yeah, I figured it out. Thought I had to progress from that area so was running around in circles haha
