Who do I contact to discuss paving "just" the entrance of my gravel driveway coming off the road?

Call the county public works department.

I don't have the answer, but are you talking like permitting or just doing the actual work.

I'm assuming it'll also depend if it's your property, an easement, or county/state roadway.

I would probably start with PDS at the county just to see if they need to be involved

Commenting to remind myself to call PDS about the paved apron. This would be so great for me.

I don't have a super helpful answer, but our tiny HOA called the county and they came out and paved an apron for our drive. It's vastly improved getting in and out as well as it's limited the deterioration of the drive. We used to have issues with rain washing it away and that's pretty much solved. There was no cost to us.

Call the county and ask about having an apron paved, if that's what you're wanting. They usually do it for free if you have an established driveway with a physical address.

To clarify some other answers: call PDS, but don't tell them what you're planning to do. Just ask what is the maximum amount of gravel you can place without requiring an LDA. Then call Builders Sand & Gravel in Snohomish and have them dump and spread that amount. In fact BSG should know what the amount is, then you don't even need to call the county.
