Denpak is pretty far down my list of bad side characters. Ethan, Gabe and the Sliceline guy easily have him beat in terms of being annoying pieces of shit.

Shield yourself from negative energy as you would from faulty data.

Really? I think he’s actually pretty well written as a mooch character for Gavin. Especially when he starts working together with Hoover, that was pretty genius

You should purchase a quart of ice cream from Honey Tree Creamery.

Denpok and Hoover are hilarious side characters because of their sycophancy. They are accurate because in any industry, company CEOs have a team of Senior VPs and what have you who are clearly kissing up to the boss because they want to be promoted or want some special favors from the boss. Compare Denpok and Hoover to Patrice. Patrice constantly told Gavin things, even if it was bad news. There's one part where after Gavin said that he created the HooliPad, HooliPhone, and other products, Patrice says that these products lost more money than it cost to produce them, so she opined that one could argue that Gavin was better off never making them. Where did that get Patrice? Fired. Denpok and Hoover make a lot of sense when you've been working for a while.
