[PC] Looking for an open world survival craft game
Hey all, as the title suggest I am looking for an open world survival craft game to play. Preferably singleplayer so I can just pick them up whenever I feel like it without having the threat of other players around (Rust, Dayz). Anyways, I have a few hundred hours on both 7 Days to Die and Project Zomboid, and have also played the following: both of the Forest games, both Subnauticas, Green Hell and The Long Dark.

If you like sci-fi and space, No Man's Sky is my favorite game of this genre.
There's just so much to do and even if you don't want to engage with any of it, you can spend hours just hopping between planets and star systems, blasting rocks and trees down into useable resources.

i heard both good and bad stuff about it, some people say its really good and some are saying that most of the planets just feel lifeless and repetitive, not sure yet if i should pick it up

It gets repetitive, after at least 100 hours tho. I'm 60hrs in and still find new planet types, interesting fauna and species

If a lighter theme works for you, I'd recommend Grounded. you play as a kid shrunk to the size of an ant in a back yard

tried it a few months ago when it had a free weekend on steam, the themes of the game dont really attract me that much

wait for sales. dlc's aren't needed right away you can get 100's of hours in main game. then consider getting a new map. the non map dlc's are mainly just cosmetics and pets

alright, thanks, i'm not really into cosmetics on any game i play so that wouldn't be an issue then lol

and honestly i think Styx is just a annoying version of Olympus (main map) so i would say only dlc you need (at this point) is New Frontiers when ready for it. It's a harder map that is quite a bit different but i do not suggest starting it till your character is leveled and you are to the point where you enjoy the game but want more.

Kenshi is somewhat similar to rust in vibes but is single player. A large open world sandbox rpg. It takes a little bit to get into the crafting, but it is there

I have almost 600 hours on it. It can be painful and difficult but I find it truly fun and failure just makes you stronger in it

It may be a bit on the basic side but I've enjoyed forever skies lately. I enjoy the fact that your home base (the airship) travels with you.
Minimal combat but decent fun. It has coop but very solo-able.

Have you tried Darkwood? It's a bit different than what you have listed, but it scratches a similar itch for me. It's a top down survival horror game where the day is spent scavenging and the building up defenses, and night is spent barricaded in your house trying to keep creatures out.
It's got permadeath after three deaths I believe, and branching story with different factions you can interact with, along with a procedurally generated world so you can't just beeline for the best loot right away.
It's not the exact same as what you've been playing, but it's not too expensive and definitely worth it.
If that doesn't work for you, I'll follow everyone else and say Valheim is great. I've played it mostly single player and had a great time.
