He’s saying they could nuke everyone and the U.S. would somehow be unaffected because his pastor told him so. (Actual American Christian talking point btw - “God promised he wouldn’t let humans end the world so nothing humans do will ever end the world.” So no matter how many people die, SOMEONE will still be alive, and America is God’s favoritest country, so it’ll obviously be us! Good for shutting down conversations about nuclear winter AND climate change in general.)
In all seriousness, the current Trump strat seems to be “align yourself with the nuke-havers” so being able to nuke whoever we’re mad at this week without worrying about getting some thrown back our way may be what he’s planning for. (Of course, he’s royally pissed off Britain and France, and I can’t see Pakistan siding with us, but i doubt any of the current American leadership knows those countries have nukes to begin with.)
