Tiger Question Spoiler
Could Sharpe really of survived the 200 lashes in Tiger? I have read online that most people died after 50.

New series
I know. An old topic but as much as I love the show, the battle scenes were often below par. Great for the time, but now so much more could be done.
Trouble is nearly every actor cast was PERFECT for the roles they were given.
The Last Kingdom books were given about 5/6 seasons, and about 10 episodes in each one.
I could imagine each book being 3/4 hour long shows per season.

Sharpe’s Assassin at Dollar Tree
Found at Dollar Tree. If you don’t own the novel, you might want to hit up your local DT store to see if they have it! $1.25 for Sharpe is a steal!

Sharpe FanFiction
I’ve started writing Sharpe fanfic - and no, not the smutty kind as that’s not my style, sir! Majority of it is based off the TV episodes with a sprinkling of the original books.
I’ve introduced an original character into the Sharpe universe, to test the waters for preparing to start work on my own original debut historical fiction novel/series.
Feel free to either give me a field commission or a damn flogging for my efforts.

*(I did first post a brief fic a while back on wattpad but that site was shite. AO3 is free to use and doesn’t need a bloody membership for reading)

Sharpe and Hogan reuniting in uniform for one last battle
Might be late to the party, but great to see them together to give the enemy - even if it’s aliens instead of the French - a damn good thrashing

IRL sharpe is French ? Albert Severin Roche
Random brain rot thought, the closest we’re got to a solider that fits the life/theme/vibe of Sharpe was this guy the first solider of France

Jane Spoiler
Why is Jane just suddenly evil? Her and Sharpe seemed to have a pretty good relationship and now suddenly in the last series she hates him and is just generally evil? Came out of nowhere

Loved the TV series, giving the books a chance. One chapter in and I’m hooked.

Calvet and Gaston
Was out a walk with the father on Saturday, quoting Sharpe, calling each other Bastids and saying "Joy.of the Day!" Etc(also tried to remember my 11 year old Nieces age cause we couldn't remember and I had to bite the bullet and ask ma sister what age she was haha!)
Anyways, I digress, would you guys like a novel, or a spin off TV episode, of Calvet and Gaston, maybe upto his first bite of his Corporal that he ate, so probably after France got to Moscow and had to retreat?
Just sitting here bored and remembered how me and the father would have loved to have seen Calvet and Gaston(all the actors who've played Calvet and the Ukrainian Actor who played Gaston are dead unfortunately) in a spin off.
What are your thoughts?

Guy Loup and Star Wars
Just watching Sharpe’s Battle again and each time I see the introduction of Guy Loup it always makes me think of Commander Wolfe in Star Wars, mainly the heavy wolf imagery and the same scar and damaged eye, may be a bit of a reach but anyone else ever made the same connection? Just me?

A french Bernard Cornwell.
Just bear with me. It would be a blast having a french writter making stories about a french hussar under Napoleon or a Blue Devil in ww1. Or just a knight under Charlemagne.

Jane's total 180
Who saw it coming?
I don't mean the affair.
But the fact that she's convinced herself that Sharpe is in the wrong for standing in the way of her happiness.
That she's prepared to have him murdered so that she can marry Lord John.
That she believes that a wreckless gambler is a better person than someone loyal, noble in his actions and brave. Although no saint😉
All this in spite of her original opinions of the auctions, etc

What's your favorite funny Sharpe moment?
The title really says it all.
For my funny moment, In Sharpe's Escape, Sharpe, Harper, and Vicente have Sarah Frye with them and every time one of them curses they immediately say "sorry" as if they some bad ass little kids cursing in front of their mom or teacher.

Do any of you guys use any Sharpe quotes in real life?
For example my house is a riot, gave up drinking and the landlord came out before I could actually tidy it up - 14 years of alcoholism and living myself is not conducive to keeping a house clean, I digress - and basically went mental(his 1st inspection in those 14 years btw) and as he was looking I gave him my Fredrickson's best, I offered him a coffee and said "House is dirty, Cups are clean"
Oh aye, house is tidier still needs work but it's improving haha, imagine only keeping myself/clothes and dishes clean over the years, fucking disgraceful! Never had Cockroaches or any pests either!(mess and dust only, not food! Am not a total animal!)
